We decided to stay here after reading the positive reviews. I can confirm that the rooms are spacious and clean, and nicely decorated. We chose a superior room at the back of the hotel (more quiet than the front) for $24; the view wasn't anything special but was OK. Very comfortable bed and decent sized bathroom with tub.
Lockable cupboards are a plus.

As many others noted, the buffet breakfast is very good value compared with other places: cereal, fruit, various rice and noodle dishes and freshly prepared omelette and pancake.

Although they offer a free shuttle every hour we never used it since its a quick 15min walk into town or you hire bicycles for $1 from next door.

The only thing I can fault this place on is that the wifi speed isn't the fastest (it's fine for email but for me was slowish for photo uploading).
Staff were mostly friendly and helpful. Also, one of their PCs in the lobby had a virus, so check carefully.

We stayed here for 2 nights in June and really enjoyed our stay.
Many reviewers claim the hotel is relatively far from the town centre - this is not untrue.
However, our stay in Hoi An would not have been the same had we not have hired bicycles to travel around the town.
The roads are much quieter than in the bigger towns so as a westerner you can manage on a bicycle. It means you can see the whole town and feel a nice breeze when its a really hot day.
Sunflower hotel has a nice lady with bicycles outside the hotel which are very cheap to hire.
Also many travellers miss out on going to Hoi An's beach. This is such a shame as it is a lovely bike ride and the beach is the best we saw in Vietnam.
Therefore, you are not too far away from the beach or the town, at Sunflower.
Additionally the rooms were nice, not as nice as we had seen in our hotels at Hue and Hanoi but certainly adequate. And the pool made up for it. The pictures make it look a little shabby but it is a nice spot.
All in all, we would certainly stay there again. We enjoyed Hoi An the most out of all our Vietnamese travels.

Stayed for 2 nights while backpacking. Paid 20 USD a night. Room was big, clean and quite quiet. Breakfast was very good value, a buffet with a strong local taste.

Downsides were a 20 minute walk to the old town and a terrible smell that came once the bathroom fan was on - which is always when the light is on. The reception was not pushy at all about tours, though Sinh tickets to Hue were quoted as 6 dollars, which is twice the actual price in dongs.

Upsides are as listed above plus the location which is on Cura Dai road, ie much closer to town and further away from the beach than shown in some maps. They also have a shuttle service, which basially functions as a group taxi.

My wife and I were really comfortable in this hotel and wished we could have stayed longer. Other reviewers have pointed out the positives of the hotel - rooms spacious & clean, great breakfast, excellant service and nice relaxing pool. Location for us was OK because we like to walk & explore and from the hotel you can do this. Nice little restaurant next door with very reasonable prices. The family also operates a tailor shop and prices there seemed pretty good as well. Very convenient if you don't want to spend your limited time on haggling over prices at the many tailor shops competing for your custom. Beach during the day and a relaxing meal overlooking the river at night. This is my sort of town.

We checked into this hotel because it was affordable, and expected very basic accommodation, but it totally exceeded our expectations! We stayed for four nights and can't believe it's only rated 2 stars! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful (best we've encountered in Vietnam), and the all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast that is included in the price of the room is soooo good!! You won't believe it! This does not feel like a budget traveller destination- it feels like you're spoiling yourself!

Room Tip: We were on the 4th floor and it was still fine and the internet was super strong up there because they have a modem on every floor!
