This family run establishment was a great experience for the whole family!
Our group of 10 half filled the establishment and put the kitchen a little behind because the entire family running the establishment was busy getting the meals ready.
The clay pots that we had were to die for and well worth the wait.
The meal present from noodles to clay pots were enjoyed by all.
Do not be put off by the decor, the food is fantastic.
It is like entering a family home and the cooking tasted like it.
Prices were very cheap at around USD$2 to around USD$5 per dish.
The beer ranges from USD$0.40 to USD$1.50 per serving.
Overall, it was a great experience.

Family run restaurant. Food was rather average stuff. There was a cooking class being conducted in the dining room during our visit and it wasn't too pleasant as the fumes were everywhere as if we were in the kitchen. Food was too oily. Will give this a miss the next time.

Small restaurant along the river side. Service staff was friendly but we found the food very oily. The clay pot fish came swimming in oil and so were all the food we ordered. The fried wantons were covered with oil too. Food tasted ok but was just overall too oily for us.

Dont be fooled by the outside of this little family run restaurant, its surrounded by far more fancy looking places but its the best by FAR! Once you are inside, its a cute as a button. Its in the front part of a family home and the family (including granny!) do all the cooking and serving. The food was some of the nicest we had in Vietnam (yum claypots!) and the beer was cheap. The staff where super friendly and the ambiance was warm, local and 'real' feeling. Hanoi can feel a little touristy at times, and this place is a very welcome break from that. What more could you ask for? We rarely go to a place more than once when we are traveling because we like to try new things, we in 4 days we went back to this place 3 times! And we would do it again! HIGHLY recomended.

We stopped in here for a cooking class and really enjoyed ourselves. This is a small family run restaurant with great local food. We were able to customize our menu, learn things we really wanted to and finished with some really tasty food. The price for our class was very reasonable, much cheaper than elsewhere in town. We strongly recommend Phone Café for a cooking class and or a good meal!
