We were in two minds whether to book here as it's neither in the centre of town nor close to the beach. However, it turned out to be perfect because you benefit from the tranquility of the hotel's location and can reach everything you need to by a gentle 10 min bike ride. You can rent (lockable) bikes at the hotel cheaply and, for those new to Hoi An, don't be put off by the crazy traffic you may have seen in other cities - it's much calmer and there are no hills either! The hotel itself is new (it opened three months ago they told us) and in a lovely setting next to one of the waterways. The rooms are scrupulously clean, the staff friendly and helpful and the food is good - we arrived late on our first day and had an excellent dinner on the terrace. There appeared to be not that many other guests staying which I suppose is a reflection of the hotel building trade but based on what I've experienced they'll be be fully occupied before long....

Lovely Hoi An can be buzzing and Bamboo village is the perfect balance. It is a lovely calm oasis. Warm friendly people made us feel like family. A gorgeous pool, great food, spacious comfortable rooms. And reasonably priced! We will definitely go back.

A lovely hotel with large, spotless, comfortable rooms and all the mod cons you would expect....the hotel has a beautiful pool - great for a dip after cycling around town....and lovely gardens on the river...the restaurant is very good and reasonably priced...and breakfast was excellent...
The hotel is between the beach and town - a 10 minute cycle ride each way...off the beaten track - a tranquil retreat from the town...quiet and relaxing...
From the moment we arrived the family and staff made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble...we had 3 nights there and were sad to leave...
This hotel has been open 2 months and the staff are learning the ropes but this place is a gem...highly recommended...

We came across this hotel by chance when the one we had confirmed reservations for double booked our room over new year.
So glad we did. It is truly an excellent hotel and great value for money. Rooms are large and beautifully appointed(and immaculately clean), staff incredibly friendly and helpful without being "pushy". The hotel is in almost an oasis of quiet , down a lane right on the water...so no traffic noise ..yet very easy to get into town and the beach, hotel offered a shuttle bus and bikes but the taxis were so cheap we didn't bother. Pool is beautiful and staff picked fresh coconuts off the trees for us to drink.
The breakfast is 5 star hotel standard with the chef cooking requests at the buffet table.
We were invited to the new year BBQ..but as we already had an engagement were given an outstanding meal the following evening of typical Vietnamese food....which was delicious and not the same thing as we would have ordered on our own. Laundry service was also great...clothes returned the same day...
The downstairs rooms all face onto small courtyards, each with a different garden and beautiful planting there is also an original old building on the property that is now a shrine to the owners family which we were privileged enough to be allowed to enter...nothing was too much trouble for the staff here to arrange. It is much more like staying in a friends beautiful home than in a hotel.
The only negative is like in many places we stayed in Vietnam , a lack of shower curtain ...but we mentioned this to the staff and maybe it will be fixed soon....having said that the bath was lovely and plenty of hot water ( and my teenagers were delighted there was a phone by the bath for those important calls you can't miss)
Definitely the place to stay in Hoi An for a sensible price and luxurious time.

On my first visit to Vietnam I had the pleasure to stay at the Bamboo Village Resort in Hoi An.

Located on the river bank the Hotel is about 150 m of the main road and a tranquil, calm, peaceful retreat from the sometimes hectic environment in Vietnam.

I want to congratulate the Long Family to have created a true place of rest and thank the staff to have made a memorable experience. Together with the outstanding accommodation, setting, service and hospitality it makes the Bamboo Village one of the best Hotels I have stayed in.

It's rare that I give top marks but I had to for Bamboo Village Resort.

My son and I had booked four nights at another hotel in Hoi An which was filthy and we left after one night. We stayed at a different hotel the next night but they were booked out for the next two. All the other hotels that rated highly with TA were fully booked (peak season). That is when we found Bamboo Village Resort - the newest place in Hoi An.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. It's a little oasis away from the motorbikes and persistent sellers in the old town. A taxi to and from here only costs $1.50 or you could hire a bike - the road is straight and flat.

When we first saw our room (it was a poolside bungalow) I couldn't believe how spacious it was. Everything is in brand new condition and the room was beautifully fragranced with lemongrass essential oil. The room is spotlessly clean too.

Someone has really taken some time to think about what guests may need or want - no expense has been spared. The beds were springy and comfortable, this seems to be rare in Vietnam. There are robes and a safe deposit box in the bathroom closet - this is also a great place for your luggage if you want it out of the way.

The bathroom is a great size and there is plenty of natural light. And the bath! I can't tell you how great it was to luxuriate in this bath after getting soaked while in town. The shower is a bit different but I'll leave that as a surprise!

Bamboo Village is located on the riverside. It's so great to have an authentic setting with small boats and huts nearby - it reminds you that you are actually in Vietnam. There are coconut trees, bamboo, pond with water lilies, even a decent sized temple next to reception. The pool is great and there is decent sized shallow section for young children.

BUT one of the best things about this place is the staff - Nga and Hang in particular. They are both gorgeous girls and they speak perfect English. I enjoyed chatting and joking with them and they are always on hand to assist if you have any requests. I let Hang know that I'd be picked up at 5am the next morning because I was going on a photography tour (Hoi An Photo Tour) and she suggested a wake up call and insisted the the kitchen provide some kind of breakfast for us - she was afraid we might get hungry. We got a prompt wake up call in the morning as well as three boxes of fruit (I requested fruit) for our trip. It was so nice to be taken care of like that.

On check out my son and I each received parting gifts that were especially chosen for us and we both got a hug with Hang. Will stay here again if we return to Hoi An!
