This is an expensive hotel for Vietnam, but well worth it. It has an understated elegance. They don't try to impress as much as make their visitors feel comfortable and happy. You enter a lovely open-air lobby which looks out to the river on one side and ocean on the other. The property is tiered down to the ocean with little walkways around the wings of rooms that are reminissant of old Hoi An Town. In the rooms, they have thought of everything: beautiful silk robes (which I couldn't find to buy in Hoi An), slippers, hats for the beach, a rattan bag to take to the beach or town, and large clay urns outside of each room filled with water and a coconut ladle to wash sand off your feet. The included breakfast is like a fancy Sunday brunch in the States with stations for omlets, pastries, meats cheeses, fruits etc. Everything from pain au chocolat to sushi. They run a shuttle for their quests to Old Town, but don't feel confined to their schedule because cabs are only a few dollars. I had an stomach thing my first morning here from my last stop and the Victoria had a staff nurse at my room within 10 minutes of my call with Imodium and electrolyte water. The General Manager is French and omnipresent, you see him everywhere. That is probably why there is not a blade of grass out of line. I felt comfortable, cared about and happy. Maybe this is what heaven is like...

We booked this as the treat of our holiday, and it seriously delivered. The location is on a gorgeous stretch of beach, with crashing waves providing a fantastic soundtrack as you sit by the pool or eat in the restaurants and bars. Our room was beautiful - extremely comfortable bed, huge high ceilings and a massive balcony that overlooked the pool, garden and the sea. We ate in the restaurant and bar a few times and I was happy to find that their Vietnamese selection was just as delicious and authentic as anything we found in the towns. They also employ a French chef, so pastries at breakfast and puddings at dinner were wonderfully executed too, as was their Western menu.

The staff were utterly faultless - polite, good humoured, and with excellent English, and nothing was too much trouble. The spa was also lovely, and excellent value compared to English prices.

We had the most glorious four days here, we were so sad to leave - and when we had to catch a small hours flight to Dalat they even made us a packed breakfast at four in the morning. I would be back in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 122, which although is listed as a garden view, overlooks the pool, garden and the...

I seriously could not fault this place. It has got it all. It surpassed all my expectations - exceptionally clean, food was a foodie's dream, not noisy or overly busy, excellent friendly staff, very roomy room with a huge bathroom (and I only had one of the standard rooms!), comfortable bed, beautiful lush green grounds, shuttle bus to and from Hoi An, kid's club, the list is endless. The breakfast is to die for.

Room Tip: Just go there - it doesn't matter what room you stay in it's still heaven.

About 6km from the old town of Hoi An is this beautiful resort on a stretch of fantastic beach. We booked the beachfront villa for 3 nights but decided to stay 4 as there was a lot to do & see in Hoi An. Our villa was amazing; outdoor shower, huge bathroom with spa bath & separate toilet (with all amenities). The bed was huge (as most places we've stayed in in Vietnam). There is also a tea ceremony/game room between the main bedroom & bathroom which was perfect for our 2 1/2 year old. We set up a little bed there (from the sofa cushion in the main bedroom), it was ideal. The villa also had an espresso machine, DVDs, music CDs, writing desk, balcony with chairs. The breakfast was amazing also, a huge selection & nice to sit outside. We also ate from the pool/snack menu which was equally tasty (both western & local dishes). The pool is huge & enough beach lounges, also a small wading pool for the kids. Beach is clean with lounges on the sand, a great beach for walking along - it seems endless! Kids club very good, our toddler loved it, lots of toys & organized activities (probably better for the older kids). Staff are friendly & everyone loves babies in Vietnam! Lunch and dinner are free for kids under 5 in the kids club. We comfortably left our toddler there for a few hours whilst we went shopping. The free shuttle bus service departs a few times a day to town & back but the times didn't really suit us so we took taxis (approx 85-100,000 Dong).

We went to Hoi An and The Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort &Spa at the end of our Vietnam Tour to relax and it was the best place to choose.
Very clean, very clam (you only hear the sound of the sea) but with a shuttle bus to go to Hoi An Ancient town

Where do i start? An excellent resort built with character and colonial charm. The staff bend over backwards for your every need, the room was fantastic, the grounds are majestic to say the least. They have a free shuttle bus that runs to Old Hoi An town hourly. We would definitely recommend visiting the hotel spa and having a massage whilst you are there to totally relax yourself. The restaurant has an excellent selection for breakfast, lunch and dinner, room service is also available. Take the time just to walk around the resort and take in the atmosphere, beautiful is the only word that comes to mind.

Sit at the beach and have a fresh coconut juice or a cocktail in the lounge. The breakfast buffet was a treat, and the dinner menu delicious. We even had dinner with live music & traditional dancers at no extra cost. They also provide free wifi which is a bonus, beach on one side, river on the other, what more could you ask for?

See the hotel staff for a recommendation on a tailor in the old town. I had a tailor made suit and tie made (excellent quality) my wife had 2 pair of trousers and a gown all tailor made for US$250, what a deal!!

We have travelled to many parts of the world, but found Victoria the most relaxing place to go. It seems to be off the mainstream tourist radar and i hope it remains that way and keeps it's charm.
On a trip into the old town to buy some extra luggage we were waiting to hail a cab back to the resort, the shuttle bus driver on his way back noticed us walking, beeped his horn, stopped and took us back even though we were not at the pick up point. Now that's service!!

Room Tip: From our experience any room is a great room!

This resort is very charming and stand out of the crowd of the typical international resorts. Even if you are inside the resort you can feel the colonial past of Hoi An. The architecture of the resort and the apartments interior have French colonial, Chinese and Japanese influence.
The hotel has a nice pool surrounded by palm trees and with one side facing the sea.
The restaurant where the breakfast is served have an indoor and outdoor dining area. The design and decoration of the indoor section will help you to travel back at the time of the French colonial era.
The rooms are very nice and spacious ( we slept in 4, 2 adults and 2 kids) with a nice Veranda. We had a deluxe apartment that although not directly beach front allowed us to have a view of the sea.
The hotel staff is extremely friendly and well trained and very helpful.
The hotel has a complementary shuttle bus service to Hoi An city ( 10-15 minutes) making your holiday hassle free. You can chill out all the day in the resort and take the bus for an evening stroll or dining in Hoi An.
If you are considering to travel in Hoi An in October keep in mind that this is typhoon season and the cost of Vietnam can suffer from heavy flooding in that period
I didn't give to the hotel 5 stars because i believe the food quality could be improved especially at dinner buffet, but overall this is a very good resort for your stay in Hoi An
