This hotel is so good in every way. The staff were the friendliest we've ever encountered and that says a lot as we've always had excellent service in the far east. The rooms were large with a good sized balcony which had 2 chaises longues and table for a relaxing read and drink late afternoon. The bathroom was spacious with bath and shower plus plenty of shampoo, bath foam etc. The breakfast buffet was well worth waking up for with something for everybody - it kept us going all day. David, the French head chef, laid on the most authentic and plentiful buffets each evening with his team - lots cooked a la minute, huge choice for even the most finicky eater and unbelievably priced - brave David. There were Vietnamese dancers 3 times a week and soft popular music during the buffet. The shuttle bus into Hoi An was regular and the town itself is busy with plenty to see (and buy)!! We paid a visit to the Spa - heavenly. Plenty of treatments to book and a gym for the more energetic. Nowhere on the grounds did we feel cramped or herded together as does happen sometimes - we would choose a couple of sun beds under a large umbrella with a table for water etc and just relaxed. No loud voices or music - the clientele was a great mix. Thoroughly recommended and on reading the hotel visitor's book a huge majority agreed with us. WE WILL RETURN!!!!

Room Tip: Choice was overlooking the beach or the river - both great.

I read many reviews and was hesitant in booking at the Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort & Spa for our family holiday.
With friends having recently visited, I took their word it was a 'gem'.
We had a wonderful 10 day stay here. We had inter-connecting rooms, over looking the road. We had no trouble with street noise, the rooms were clean, no bed bugs (as reported by some), the breakfast was amazing and after 10 days, we were still happy to be eating there. It was great having fresh fruit in the room each day - banana's and other fresh tropical fruit - great for snack between meals.
We had no issue with the shower arrangement - loved the shower accessories. The hotel provided body wash, shampoo/conditioner and bathing salts. Fresh bottled water provided each day, along with a folk story on your bed each night, and a chocolate!
We went to Hoi An every evening for dinner - what wonderful restaurants and quality of food. We tried different locations each night - using trip advisor suggestions.
The pool food was great and my favourite refreshing drink was the Victorian's own made Iced Tea.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the shuttle bus worked well into/back from Hoi An.
The only down side were some kids who's parents left them unattended at the pool and did not seem to care if they were interrupting others. This is no fault of the hotel.
Kids loved the huge ice blocks the staff brought out each day about 11am to slip into the pool - it was refreshing and fun.
Our kids were 11 & 13 if this helps. Possibly not the best location for toddlers, however, we did see some about. Small kids pool and beach right by the pool.
We did a snorkelling tour out to one of the islands - I didn't last long due to biting sea lice! The bites went away quickly. It wasn't anything 'amazing' that I have not done elsewhere.
Did a bike tour around Hoi An - kids loved it,
I was worried about getting sick as you tend to do in most Asian countries. Nobody in our family was sick at all, no tummy bugs thank goodness! Given we ate out each day, swam in pool, etc we were expecting to be unwell.
I felt really safe in Hoi An, taxi's were great. It rained at times, but it was welcomed given the humidity in the late afternoon.
We can not wait to get back to Hoi An and the Victoria!
The spa was 'awesome'! Relaxing, refreshing, clean and professional.

Room Tip: We were upstairs, overlooking road down the northern end. We were unsuccessful in getting a late ch...

My wife along with another 5 couples spent 3 nights in this resort as part of our tour of Vietnam and Cambodia. We had a nice ocean view room in a once story building. One issue with the room was that it smelled of mildew because of excessive humidity. Not sure if this is the issue with all of the rooms but it was with ours. Staff was very, very nice and food especially breakfasts was very good as well. Pool was very enjoyable just like having a beer in a cabana.

For the smell in the room, as the weather condition in the area with very high humidity you are recommend to keep airconditioner on all the time during your stay.

Once again thank you for your review and look forward to welcoming you back again soon.

We stayed here for 5nights as part of our honeymoon trio.we arrived about 10'30pm at night the staff were very pleasant and we had a welcome drink.we got put in a room right next to the reception.which had no view of the sea which we asked for also when standing on our balcony people from the bar could see us.I asked to be moved the next day to a much nicer room with a good view of the pool and sea. The staff were all very helpful breakfast wad lovely lots of choice.shuttle bus to town was very efficiently taxis cheap if you wanted to come back later only ate a couple times for lunch but very nice but expensive compared to the town.Loved hoi an and want to go back.

Room Tip: Don't have as river view.

I spent 5 days with my family in this Hotel late March 2014. I was asking for ocean view rooms for 4 weeks multiple times since I knew the river view rooms will not be ok for us. The Hotel could not accommodate the request due to pick season they said... But this is what we found...
First day we check in around midnight. They give us the river view rooms, we put girls in bed and switch off the lights. One minute after one of my girls starts screaming because there is something in the room, switch on the lights and here we go a BAT in the room flying around!! Big panic!!. I called reception, the maintenance guy, the receptionist and another guy come with a long bar, open doors and after 10 mins manage to get the animal off the room. They apologize and I ask to talk to the manager next morning. That night my children slept with my wife and me in the children's room. There is no way children will come back to that room to sleep as you could imagine....
Second day the manager "Claude" comes to us over breakfast and says, there is nothing else they can do to prevent these animals going into rooms, we are in Vietnam in the country side and despite the pest control efforts they have in place, Bats get into rooms!... I just could not believe.... I told him we need to change rooms, since my daughters will never be able to sleep in that room. I asked him again for ocean view rooms. He asked if we made the reservations with a travel agency or with them directly?... that was a surprising question.... He said, he will check. He did and somebody from the reception told us they could give us garden view rooms but they were 25 US dollars more expensive per day, they could give them to us for a discounted price of 20 US extra per room per day!. I did not have many options and agreed to pay... so my stay became right there 160 US dollars more expensive because of that. Now, we are talking 200 US per night per room!!
If you are considering this Hotel for your vacation please note the following:
Room price. They did not honor the discounts they publish in their web site such as 10% off when you book 2 Victoria hotels. They call it combination offer. They applied us the standard price despite the fact that we were coming from Hotel Victoria Seam Reap in Cambodia. I told them and they did not grant the discount for us. Really unacceptable!!!
We were not given any compensation for our trouble with the Bat the first night on top of the 5 dollars discount I mention above. Not a plate of fruit, nothing!. I spent in this Hotel circa 2000 US and they were unable to have a little thing for my children as compensation for the trouble.
The river view rooms are actually on top of a very busy road. Fyi, in Vietnam (like many other countries in Asia) they use the horn all the time as normal way of driving. As from 5am, the noise of the road will prevent your from any sleep. Be aware.
This Hotel used to have a sandy beach Hotel wide of 20mts deep, may be more. They had a storm last year and the beach is gone. Now, they only have by they side of the hotel some beach areas. Really not a good setting when you are thinking a beach front Hotel. Do not fool yourself with old pictures you may see of the hotel beach. By the way, I asked when I made the reservation for the beach issue, the hotel agent told me that beach issue was resolved!.... just a lie.
The Hotel décor is very dated. Lamps are old and dirty, doors do not close properly, they do not have showers... just a big bath with no curtains.... having a simple shower is a water all over the place challenge.
Breakfast is correct, restaurant food and drinks good but not cheap.
Pool not big but well maintained by a crew of pool guys that really do a good job. Trying to help you all the times. Glasses and glass bottles are allowed in the pool area. Just a bad idea when everybody goes around by barefoot.
In summary, there are plenty of very good Hotels in this price range in the Hoi An area close to the village. Good big international brands that will provide better value for your money. Please consider other options for this price level. By the way, all these hotels will give you a free ride to the village not only Victoria.

Room Tip: Do not go for River view. If they have no other, go for other Hotel in the area.

Dear Justatraveler2014,

Thank you very much for having taken time to post your review about your recent stay at Victoria Hoi An Resort. First of all we do apology for the inconvenient caused during your stay with us.

As you may know Hoi An is located in the country side with tropical weather we some time cannot avoid the bat. We actually have been working with pet control company here and try to keep it away but the nature is something that out of us control.

For the food, the price in the resort is higher if you compare with the local restaurant as We only work with good supplier with certificate of quality and hygiene plus with the services from hotel staffs and the quality and services is what we can guaranteed.

For the discount of the room rate, as our explanation on private email if you mentioned your detail reservation of other property we will definitely apply the discount as the combination offers but any way we hope you are now happy with our given solutions.

Once again, Thank you very much for your stay and hope to be at your services in the near future.

Don't even think twice. Go there. Wonderful service. Gorgeous rooms. Breathtakingly beautiful garden/pool. II am use to 5 star hotels and this was beautiful. The breakfast was plenty and choices were excellent. The distance from town is a bit far and you do not really have much of a beach. But, then taxis are so inexpensive that it does not matter. They also have free shuttle to town.

Located on Cua Dai beach, it serves as a comfortable and luxurious stay with fine cottages and rooms. The landscape of the hotel is dotted with hammocks and recliners and some inviting bar and lounges.

The swimming pool is fantastically located overlooking the sea. Apart from the usual amenities such as a Spa, coffee shop and gift shops, the hotel also offers Tai Chi lessons, Kayaking and a sport lounge. The guests can also intermingle in the billiard and snooker rooms and the library.

The shuttle service to and from the main market is worth mentioning. Service is prompt inspite of the vastness of the resort.
