We stayed in an ocean view room which is right on the ocean and worth the additional money, being able to sit out the front verandah with a drink and watch the sea. The beach however appears to have been washed away with rocks below the resort with a private beach available at the sides of the hotel.. The hotel is not as modern as some others but has a very good pool and dining facilities. Our room was spacious with an interesting outdoor shower. The service is friendly and pleasant but not remarkable. The hotel is about a $4-5 Taxi fare to HoiAn, although the Hotel runs a shuttle service. We only had breakfast in the Hotel however it was very good.

Stayed in a junior suite for our honeymoon, which was a worthy upgrade as it was literally 2 metres from the water with a nice deck.

Pool was great, bar and food was good, although far better quality and value can be found 5 minutes walk up the road to Cua Dai beach and its little strip of highly rated (Tripadvisor) cafés/restaurant/bars, all of whom seem to have a happy hour on at some time of the day, coupled with food that consistently beat the big name places in town.

Staff were friendly and the regular shuttle into Hoi An was handy, even though it was only 100,000VND / $5 in a cab to town.

Overall, a big thumbs up and would definitely stay here again, according to most people we met around Hoi An, this was the pick of the bunch.

Room Tip: Stay in a junior suite and avoid the river rooms, they all overlook the busy street!

Nice enough, but not what we were looking for. For starters, we booked a “River View” room, as I imagined a quaint, quiet view with lots of palm trees. The view is pretty, but in between the hotel and the river is a quasi-busy road, which in Vietnamese style is loud, with a cacophony of horns, beeps and noisy motorbike and truck engines. When we were shown the room, we asked if there was another room (i.e. one not facing the road) available. We were told there was, but we would have to pay more. We asked how much and then were told that there wasn’t a single room available for the duration of our (pre-paid) 4 night stay, but they could move us around. Sounded like a lot of hassle for a relaxing beach vacation. So we stayed with the “River” view room, with a balcony. Luckily, the noise died out around 10pm, so we slept decently. However, traffic started early and inevitably we were woken up by the blasting of a horn. Not the quiet, quaint relaxing start to our days that we had hoped.

The room itself was light, functional and comfortable, with all the amenities you’d expect from a hotel of this standard, including turndown service.

There were a lot of young families at the resort, which made the pool side a wee bit noisy, but in a nice way. However, breakfast felt chaotic and stressful with many hungry tots running around. The selection was a thorough and tasty. We also grabbed lunch at the hotel, which although expensive, was tasty. Spring rolls, noodles and two sodas topped 25USD.

Victoria has also, unfortunately lost most of its beach to erosion and the pool area doesn’t quite seem big enough to accommodate all the guests. There is a pretty public beach at the end of the property.
There was a free shuttle service to Hoi An, departing at 9am, 11am, 2pm,6pm, 7pm 8pm and 9pm. The return was on the same hour, but half past. If these times weren’t convenient, a taxi cost about 100,000VND (5USD). They also offer a boat service to Hoi An for 600,000VND.

Service was polite throughout and they granted us a late check-out (2pm) which was helpful.

I, in the grand scheme of things, these aren’t bad problems to have. But, the Victoria simply didn’t deliver on the peaceful, relaxing few days by the beach we were looking for. We paid ~150USD/night, which is a fair bit in Vietnam, and if we hadn’t prepaid, I think we would have gone elsewhere.

Room Tip: The "river view" rooms face the road

Dear CANINLON,

Thank you very much for having taken time to post your review about your recent stay with us. We are sorry that we can not give you an upgrade the room as the hotel was running very high occupancy during your period of stay. We agreed with you that with river view room it will be affected by the noise from the street in front but we have many other room types which offers the beautiful view and peaceful atmosphere like garden view, Deluxe garden or Ocean view rooms.

For the beach, the beach at the next land is our private beach not public beach as your though and we provide all facilities, activities for beach vacation so you can enjoy it as much as you wish.

We are looking forward to welcoming you back again soon.

Not really a 5 star hotel as the official rating shows. The location right on the water could not be better and the view down from reception is wonderful. Rooms are very spacious, but the public areas were a bit ordinary. The service was good, but not quite as super friendly as elsewhere in Vietnam. Excellent pool.

Really reliable and useful transfers to and from the town which we used every day - they don't run in the middle of the day, so if you stay in town for lunch before an afternoon by the pool you will need to take a taxi back. We never found this to be a problem, although from reading various taxi comments before we left we stuck to Mai Linh taxis which were always reliable. Breakfast was fine, but we never ate there in the evening - compared with restaurants in town we did think it seemed expensive, although the food was apparently good.

Considering the price we paid, we concluded that you pay a lot for being right on the water.

Quite a relaxed atmosphere overall, with lots of families, which sometimes drifted in to people breakfasting bare foot.

Not too sure whether we would stay here again, we thought the hotel OK, but its location certainly was excellent.

It's not very often I wire about food when it comes to giving commentary on a hotel. It is also unusual for me to dine in a hotel apart from breakfast and the occasional room service. I did on this occasion, my third trip to Hoi An, decide to eat in at the restaurant one night, The Buffet. It was incredible. Forget the images of food sitting around, there were BBQ grilling stations, crepes being freshly flipped, a platter of tomato tartines offered to seated guests, an incredible array of the most exquisite French patisseries/desserts (thanks to the head French chef) and a trolley of cheeses walking the floor. The highlight was the chef walking passed the stations and handshaking his Vietnamese counterparts on their excellent effort toward the end of the night. I loved that. Well done Victoria, it was well worth giving pho a miss for this trip highlight. It certainly was no buffet, it was five star dining. I will be back for sure!

We spent 6 nights at the end of our recent trip to Vietnam here and really enjoyed our stay.Well worth the price for this hotel as it is everything you would want. This hotel really is paradise. Excellent service, delicious food, beautiful pool, excellent rooms and an ideal location near Cua Dai beach. They organised a really well run easter egg hunt, have fresh fruit at the pool every day and are really attentive to service. The place is calm and serene.
The beach front villas are beautiful but we stayed in a sea view room on 2nd floor in the main body of the hotel which was fine for us. The hotel has a free shuttle into town which we availed of every day.
The only draw back was the beach out front has been washed away but there are beaches either end of the hotel so it didn't really matter. If you can afford it then this really is the place to stay in Hoi An and we will be returning, just a matter of when....

We were in a group of 8 people and did not stay here, we were staying at the Essence, near the old town about 3kms away, but one of our party had stayed here before and encouraged us to get taxis out there to have lunch at the restaurant. We explained our mission on arrival and were welcomed and treated exceptionally well. All of the staff we encountered were absolutely terrific. We were settled at a nice table outside, with a view of the pool and beach.

The seafood platter for two at lunch was awe-inspiring, absolutely piled with some of the best seafood we have ever had (and we are Australian!). The crab was amazingly fresh, the prawns were enormous, the pippis (called chipchips) were great, the tuna sashimi was incredible and the calamari was perfect. There was no padding-out with potato chips or fried fish, just heaps of good, fresh seafood, unadorned but served with a selection of very tasty sauces. This was one of the best meals we had in Vietnam (albeit far more expensive than most, but still half what we would pay at home). They also had a good wine list so we were able to wash it down with some lovely cold French bubbly and chardonnay.

Afterwards, the staff invited us to use the hotel's private beach, which we did. Towels were provided, lifeguards were on duty and we were able to use a day bed in the shade to rest and put our stuff. The beach was lovely and the water very warm and clean. Having a body-bash in the surf after such a fine lunch was great and then we played some beach volleyball on their court. After that we went up to the hotel's magnificent pool next to the ocean and had a cleansing dip, before drying off and getting taxis home, which the hotel were happy to arrange for us.

We looked at the Victoria's accommodation while we were there - nice looking villas by the sea, all with views, but we didn't go inside and don't know how much they cost, so can't comment on staying there. But as a place to visit, for a great lunch and a swim, I could not recommend this place more highly.
