unfortunately we only spent one night here but found everything lovely. The rooms were adequate but the pool and bar area were superior and tastefully done leading one onto the most spectaular beach . It was fun watching the local fisherman in their round boats go by in the morning. The fittness centre was ok but the steam room and spa were great.

We spent a week here in late July in a beachfront junior suite and absolutely loved it. When this hotel says beachfront, they really mean it, and the beachfront suites are literally 1 metre from the sand with amazing views out over the ocean. Everything about this place worked for us, the room was great, the private beach is bliss, the ocean great for swimming and body surfing. The photos on the hotel's website dont do this place justice - its much prettier than they even suggest and the rooms, grounds, poo and gardens maintained meticulously. Fantastic, friendly staff and the food at the bars and restaurant was good. As this places charges in US$ it means eating and drinking at the resort can be more expensive than if you go out but no more than if you go to the better restaurants and bars in town and with the convenience and peace of mind that its going to be safe to eat. The town of hoi an is about 10 mins drive away and great to explore over the course of a couple of visits. We used both the hotel shuttle and taxis which cost only $2-3 each way and are plentiful. Highly recommend this place.

This hotel was fabulous. We were traveling with our two boys - aged 8 and 6 - and they loved it. The kids club was for much younger children (up to 5 years old?) so we didn't use that facility. We spent our time between the pool, the beach and the old town of Hoi An.

The great things about this hotel were the staff, the pool, the wonderful breakfast and the location. Just up the beach were a range of seafood restaurants that we enjoyed visiting as the food was super fresh and well priced.

There were only a few things we'd tell fellow travellers about:
1. The tailor the hotel recommended in town ("Number 9") was dreadful. Rude, overpriced and the quality was terrible. If you want a GREAT tailor, go in to the covered market area and find 'Number 1 Ngyuen' and find a very short but bubbly lady by the name of 'Bee". She is fantastic and speaks great English. We ended up getting 80 pieces made by her during our stay including suits, shirts, dresses, boardshorts... the works!
2. The shuttle buses are too infrequent and at odd times during the day. Other hotels were on the hour so it was easier to get around. We ended up spending 60,000 Dg on taxis regularly between the old town and the hotel.

Other than the above, we loved this hotel and the staff. We will definitely be back!

We arrived just after the area had been devastated by the typhoon in 2009. We had been travelling and had not got the e-mail cancelling our stay at our original hotel a few hundred metres up the beach which was wrecked. Huge 10 feet deep banks of sand had been washed in and Hoi An where the staff lived was under several feet of water. The Victoria hotel had suffered some minor damage and the pool was full of sand. Not an auspicious start to a stay. What can I say about the staff! They were sleeping on the roof of their houses at home but turned up immaculately dressed with big smiles to look after their western guests. Food was fantastic, staff superb, rooms lovely. To watch such a poor country clear fallen trees, move mountains of sand and get Hoi An open for business again in a few days all with very limited amounts of heavy machinery was amazing. Pool was cleared and ready to swim in in 3 days. Fantastic holiday and a humbling experience.

We really enjoyed our 6 night stay at the Victoria, having access to the beach from the hotel's pool was fantastic. A regular shuttle bus runs to Hoi An but the cost of the taxi was only about 60,000 dong (£2).
The staff are fantastic and having a beach side room is an expense I would recommend. Food and Drink is quite expensive in the hotel, but was a good standard. I would definately stop again if I visited Hoi An, and would recommend people to go to Hoi An before the big resorts move in. The 6 days proved to be very relaxing and beach was in fantastic condition. My partner used the spa which again was quite expensive but she enjoyed it. My suggestion is not to pay the hotel prices and explore Hoi An in the evenings, the hotel is great to relax by the day.

After "packing and going" from Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hue, the Hai Van Pass and Danang using all modes of transport [except for trains and water buffalo], myself and my partner entered the Victoria with mouths agape. We had stayed in perfectly adequate, comfortable 3 star hotels en route on our trip with Selective Asia. Then we reached the Victoria - OMG. It is beautiful. Met by staff on entering the hotel reception with cold towels and drinks, we were informed that we had been given a complimentary upgrade.

WOW is all I can report. Our room was immaculate, plush and cool. A basketful of tropical fruits, gorgeous complimentary toiletries, a flat screen TV and DVD player including music and films, and a fully stocked [pricey] mini-bar were a delight.

Yes the hotel is a bit pricey by Vietnamese standards but don't go there if you are on a very tight budget - simple. It is 5 stars after all and prices at the Victoria are cheap when you consider a 5 star hotel in London, Paris or anywhere else in the world for that matter. This is a piece of luxury which moderate budgets can afford for a few nights with an ambience unique to itself.

I have read other reviews that the laundry service is expensive - yes it is but clothes are returned the same day totally creaseless and on hangars. There are local laundries a few minutes away but could you be bothered humping bags of laundry in 40 degree heat? Not likely.

The buffet breakfast is varied and adequate. We had an a la carte lunch at the hotel - again a wee bit pricey by Vietnamese standards - but absolutely delicious. We ate out every night both in town and by the beach - food outrageously good and cheap. Try the Mango Rooms in town for a twist. This would cost double if not triple for the standard in the UK. A shared starter [would have been enough!!], 2 mains, a cocktail and 2 very large whiskies around $50. Totally superb.

The Spa "Essentials" experience was amazing. Again there are cheaper offers outside the hotel but again why skimp on a bit of luxury? It is simply fantastic.

It is however, the staff that add to this hotel - they are wonderful, friendly but discreet - and will bend over backwards to help their guests in our experience. We made many new friends in this hotel and will be returning I suspect many times in the future. This is quite simply one of the best hotels we have ever been to. We would recommend this hotel for honeymooners, families and like us, couples who have been around a bit together!!!

Hotel is situated with beach on one side and river on the other, so no matter which side your room, there is a nice view. I've stayed at Victoria Can Tho and Mui Ne and this I thought was the nicest overall. Less than 10 mins by taxi to Hoi An.

Very large and nice pool by the beach, plenty of longers. Pool is large and deep enough for lap swimmers. Temperature is pretty high though, found myself heading into sea to cool off from the pool at times ! Beach bar at sunset is lovely.

Couple of bars and restaurant although restaurant prices are rather high, around USD 20 for most main course dishes, no surprise didn't see many diners there. Breakfast spread is nice. With Hoi An less than USD 5 by taxi and a large choice of great restaurants there, most seem to dine out. Another sports bar upstairs, but didn't end up trying it out.

Beach is great ,white sand, great for swimming and no rocks. Compared to Victoria Mui Ne, better in this respect.

All the rooms had free wifi and well appointed in the Victoria style plenty of wood panelling, nice bed. Service fine although they did forget an 11pm airport pickup, apparently the car broke down, but didn't bother telling anyone, even though I was in the hotel at the time...oh well

Booked this through one of the online providers listed on this site : got much better deal than going through the hotel website direct, will certainly be doing it this way again.

Overall, would certainly come here again.
