“Lovely couple and nice hotel.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 March 2014

My partner and I stayed here for 5 days while we explored Hoi An, and we enjoyed our time here.
It's a little further out of the centre, but no more than a 10-15min walk, and it was really quite pleasant to get out of the hustle and bustle of the touristy-centre.

Breakfast is great here! You get a choice of beef noodle soup, beef curry, or a baguette with chicken omelette or jam.
The couple are also really nice and friendly, and the lady really went out of her way to help us with booking tours and a cooking class. She is a very thoughtful person! You can also hire bikes/motorbikes for a very reasonable price (30,000/120,000 per day).
If you have any questions they're more than willing to help, and even told us what prices we should be paying for street food, tailoring and transport so that we wouldn't get overcharged, which I really appreciated!

It is fantastic value for the price!

The B&B is run by a couple who is lovely. The front door will be locked at night for ur safety but if u ask the will make an exception for u.
The house is in a quite little street and if u want to relax at night this is the perfect place. Hire a bike from them and get to the city center within 6 minutes. Here is where the party takes place. If u want to move on ask them for a ticket to...the airport, the bus, the train, the taxi...they will sort it out for u for a fair price. If u are lucky the invite u to dinner...do not forget to bring a gift and u will be the hero of the evening...
Very much recommended!!!

I was a little concerned being that this place was a bit out of town, but after staying a couple days I could not have been happier with the crowds. Hoi an is quite touristy, and although downtown is very quaint, it was nice to have a respite from the noise and crowds. It is also much closer to, in my opinion, the better of the two beaches. Despite what a previous reviewer said, it is definitely walking distance to town, if you are at all able-bodied. If not, they do have bikes and scooters to rent. The couple that owns it are so accommodating and genuinely nice. Being vegan, I did not want the breakfast options offered, so they went out of their way to accommodate my needs, at no extra cost. One of my fav things about it was the relaxing music they played in the common room. The only downside is if you like to sleep late there was some construction going on across the street starting shortly after the rooster crows. However, BE CAREFUL when booking sleeping bus tours through them because we got booked on the one company TP specifically advised against...cuc tung bus tours. This is the WORST company, with the most run down buses. This wouldn't have bothered me so much, but the bathroom was taped shut! So no toilet for 13 hrs! You are better off booking in town at Sinh cafe. Otherwise, HIGHLY recommend this guesthouse.

Room Tip: The family rooms are very spacious and nice, but more expensive. The ones for a couple dollars less...

This is a very good and cheap place to stay. You are a little out of the old centre but it is very relaxing and very clean. The couple that run it are very helpful and speak english, the rest of the staff do not. The beds are very hard so some will like it some will not. They offer a great complimentary breakfast right in the lobby or in the yard. Very good a freshly made. You will save allot of money so you can really have some fantastic meals in town. Very safe to walk around at night. they have bikes for rent as well.

There are a lot of things to like about Vesper Homestay. The place is clean, the owners are very friendly, the breakfasts delicious, the wifi strong, and the neighborhood is quiet.

There were also some things we were disappointed about. We stayed there for five nights, and while our room was initially clean, there was no subsequent room cleaning, despite being told there would be. Only our bed was made.

Also, as they can do laundry for you there, we handed off a bag of clothe on our second day. But four days later, when we were ready to leave, our laundry still wasn't dry. Some of it smelled like clothe that's been wet too long. Also some of the clothe we were given weren't even ours. We ended up paying 110,000 dong, for some damp clothing.

We would also recommend that if you plan to book trips through them, to check the weather reports on your own. We didn't feel they were too honest about the coming bad weather. But then again that advice really applies to all the hotels we've been to in Vietnam.

Finally, they didn't provide shampoo and soap in the room. We asked for some shampoo packets, which they gave us. But upon checking out we found that they charged us another 20,000 dong for the shampoo packets.

All in all, Vesper Homestay is a nice stop in a pretty town. We were a little disappointed in the service, but our experience may be the exception rather than the rule.

We stayed at the Vesper for three nights in a superior double. The rooms were clean and huge but don't expect for them to be cleaned while your there. The location was our favorite part of our stay - near An Bang beach and the Tra Que gardens in a very authentic part of Hoi An. A bike is necessary to get to the center of town (only about a 10 min ride) which they can provide for you. This homestay is owned by a very nice couple but at the time we stayed they were about to have a baby and seemed very scattered - our laundry was not finished and given back to wet and musty. This a great place for couples wanting to get away from the backpacker noise.

Hotel is located a bit from city center, very peaceful. You go very easy with taxi to center (1 euro, 2 minutes). Or you can go with the bike (10 min). The room was nice, clean, good and hot shower,..
The couple that runs the hotel is the nicest couple we have met in Vietnam. They will help you with everything (bus, taxi, good resto). In one word they are amazing.
So if you want to have a nice hotel with friendly personel, i recommend this hotel!!!
