Ms Nam no 5 Cookery School and Restaurant is just so different. Tables and benches capable of maximum seating of around a dozen or so are at right angles to the kitchen which is basically a wok behind a screen. How Mr and Mrs Nam produce such excellent food is one of the wonders of Hoi An, but they do. Wash it down with local beer and enjoy the atmosphere just off the riverside.

This 'restaurant' is part of a Food Court area in Hoi An ancient town which makes delicious food!
We walked up & down all the different eating places & decided to try Ms Nam & we weren't disappointed.
Everything is cooked fresh in front of you & all the ingredients are fresh to, watching this little lady preparing all these different dishes in such a small area was amazing!
The menu was very varied from traditional Vietnamese dishes to 'Western style food' if you wanted. The 4 of us all had Vietnamese food, some seafood, vegetarian or meat with vegetable dishes to accompany the mains & all delicious!

The atmosphere in the Food court, the smells from different cooks, the staff all were excellent & very very reasonable pricewise some may even say cheap!

The food is cooked in front of you and is very tasty as well as good value. Ms Nam's stall was by far the busiest in the day.

If you go the wontons are a must have though every thing was to perfection.

During our stay in Hoi An my husband and I ate here twice as the first time was so good. Our tailor said for us to try this place as it was cheaper. We loved it! You definitely get more for your money here and the food tastes great. She's in the "food court" and each stall has a small place to sit with a small kitchen run by a different family. Ms. Nam and I think it was her husband were very nice and all smiles. Our favourite dishes were the white rose (30KVND/small or 60kVND/large), spring rolls (40KVND) and the grilled chicken with veggies in the banana leaf (80k VND... I think). Oh and the banana pancake was good! My husband really liked washing his food down with the local beer (4000 VND a glass).

Eat somewhere different than the bigger restaurants, take in the atmosphere and leave stuffed!
