My wife and I stayed at Little Hoi An Boutique Hotel for 2 nights and we were absolutely bowled over by their friendliness, warmth and initiative. Other than a minor hiccup with our room which was eventually resolved to our satisfaction, our stay at the hotel was trouble-free. Everyone from the driver who picked us from the airport, the doormen cum security staff, receptionists and the chambermaids had a smile ready! Even the staff who served us breakfast took the trouble to ask about our plans for the day and gave good advice. No request for assistance or information was too small to be entertained. While we regret that we did not note down all the names of the staff who helped make our stay such a pleasurable and memorable one, the ones we do recall include Kevin (Tien) the driver, chef Danny and front desk staff Rebecca, Susan, Anna. The nightshift guy with the glasses was really helpful too.

It's a five minute walk to the old part of Hoi An where most of the shops and restaurants are. While our room did not offer a nice view out of the window, it was comfy and clean. The little local night snacks left by the bed each night were a nice touch.

We loved the breakfast and looked forward to it each morning! There was a generous spread of fruits along with a good variety of fresh local and western cuisine. The dining area was small but cosy and comfortable. While the staff was friendly and chatty, they were largely unobtrusive while we tucked in.

While the hotel didn't really have a "private beach" as advertised, their arrangement with a beach front restaurant at Cua Dai was great! Their free shuttle service ran on time and hotel beach towels were provided. The lounge chairs were free and best of all, the restaurant did not harass us to buy drinks or food from them, a practice in many tourist beaches. The only harassment came from the roving vendors with their wares of snacks, drinks and the usual tourist trinkets.

The cooking class with chef Danny was another highlight of our stay and we highly recommend it to anyone who is keen to learning more about local cuisine and ingredients. Besides a highly entertaining cooking session with Danny in the hotel, our visit to the local vegetable farm, where his family lives, was interesting and highly educational.

The only downsides to this hotel were the small pool, small gym and average spa.

While there may be hotels with better facilities and amenities in Hoi An, I recommend Little Hoi An to anyone who wants the comfort and assurance of being looked after while you are holidaying in Hoi An. Kudos to the management and staff for leaving us with such wonderful memories of our stay! We hope to see you again soon!

Room Tip: Rooms facing the canal will probably be quieter and offer a nicer view as the ones round the back face a yard of rubble with chickens running around.

Dear Writer,

Chef Danny, Rebecca, Susan, Anna & the Driver ( Kevin ) and our "little" TEAM send their best regards to your family and feel very encouraged & motivated with your GREAT comments on everything during your recent stay with us and we can't be complacent, but still have a long way to go and our aim is to make any single guests who select our Little Hotel Chain as home away from home.

We look forward with pleasure to welcoming you & your friends back with us in the coming time.

The Little Hoi An may be an undiscovered gem. I took advantage of an low-season deal on offer in preference to my usual stay in the ancient city. At US$50 per night including breakfast, it seemed like an attractive deal compared to my cheapo digs in Saigon and my usual stay in Hoi An. And coming to the end of a working two-week trip to Cambodia and Vietnam I wanted a bit of lux before heading for home. I lucked in. The Little Hoi An is a super comfortable hotel with enough pluses to make it a great rest. First the service: genuinely happy and helpful people at the front desk and dinning room. Almost killing you with kindness. Great English speakers (believe you me, this is a genuine plus in Vietnam) who know where, what and how of the town, flights, and food. The foyer is roomy and staffed around the clock. My room is spacious and the bed is large and comfortable - the mattress more attuned to European comfort than the traditional Asian cement block. The bathroom is spacious, clean and functional - none of the mould and gross silicon sealant used to fill gaps that you find in most Asia hotels. Love the aircon - quiet and buttons that work. No fuss wifi, tv that works and a silent bar fridge. The only downside, if you can call it that, is the location. You are on the edge of the town across the river. While I don't mind, the walk may be a drag for some. On the up side it is quiet yet still close to restaurants, cafes and bars the dot the waterfront. It works for me.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms enable you to have easy access to the pool and restaurant.

My wife, daughter and myself stayed at this wonderful hotel in early September 2013, and we were spoilt from the moment we entered. excellent rooms a great location and the friendliest staff I have ever met. "Movie Star" the doormen, and Rebecca, Pamela and Tracey and all the other staff could not do enough for us. Plus they were a lot of fun and ready for a laugh right up to the manager. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Hoi An. Everything you need is right nearby.

Myself and a friend stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in August, and it was perfect. It is in a great location, right next to the town. The hotel room was beautiful, and the breakfast was delicious. The best thing about this hotel is the fantastic service, and the staff (especially Lisa on reception). Nothing was too much for them; they helped us to organise our day trip to the My Son Ruins, and our transfer to our next stop. I would also like to recommend the cooking class with Danny the chef, as it was one of the highlights of our stay in Hoi An. Danny was so friendly, he took us all around the local markets and gave a great tour without ever pressuring us to make purchases. He treated us to a boat ride back to the hotel. Because there were only 4 of us, the actual cooking class was very personal and Danny was very attentive. It was great value for money. If i ever return to Hoi An i will definitely be booking back into this hotel!!
