We stayed at Essence five nights. The hotel is great value. The room decor, cleanliness and service were all excellent. The staff made a considerable effort to keep us comfortable, safe and happy, meeting our taxis each time we returned or left the hotel. The breakfast buffet is probably the best we've had anywhere, and we travel a lot. Huge choice of western and Asian foods. All food beautifully served and fresh. The restaurant was great. We ate there often. Very reasonable meals and gourmet food. Pool area is lovely, though we didn't use it as it was quite cool during the day. The hotel is not in the old town area, but on the edge of town, about ten minutes walk into old town or a very cheap taxi ride. Highly recommend. Great experience.

Room Tip: We had a balcony room. That meant a view of our courtyard wall, not of the rice paddies. It was nice...

The hotel situated a bit of a distance from the town center - 15 minutes however taxis are really cheap. The hotel looks very new and has the best rooms we have seen during our trip across Vietnam. Breakfast was good but not exceptional. The swimming pool is done well. Bar is expensive (European prices) and quality of cocktails is not great compare to most places in Vietnam. The spa area was not fully built yet when we stayed there back in Nov 2013 Overall we enjoyed our I stay and would recommend this hotel.

We stayed at Essence Hotel & Spa last week. As it being our honeymoon we ordered the honeymoon retreat pack. Firstly the booking was made via email in a quick and efficient way. We were picked up at the airport and had some complimentary delicious teas and were greeted by lovely, friendly staff upon arrival in the hotel.

The room was beautiful! The photos other people uploaded doesn't do it justice. The bathroom is amazing and the double bath was spectacular!

We stayed for three nights and felt pampered each day. The breakfast buffet is huge and definitely one of the best breakfasts we had in a hotel in Vietnam - there is a wide selection to choose from and in most the food tasted fantastic.

The location is fantastic - 5 minutes on the bikes and you're in Hoi An's ancient city. The bikes are provided by the hotel and instead of going on the road there is a path going through the village which makes the ride a whole lot more enjoyable (the path starts right outside the hotel, ask the staff if not sure). We also walked the path one day instead of cycling which was lovely.

The staff recommended booking dinners in advance and were happy to help us and book for us which was such a great advice and help as most places were very busy.

As a part of the pack we did a day tour which was nice. The pool area looked great, we just were there in a slightly colder weather and didn't get the chance to try it out…

We had a wonderful, relaxing time :)

We arrived at the essence hotel after leaving Hanoi a couple of days early and our booked hotel couldn't accommodate us. After the first night we cancelled our original hotel and stayed at the essence for 6 nights. It was a lovely hotel and it's location out of town was a plus for us. The staff are all very friendly and happy to help and we were really impressed with everything about the hotel. We had a forecast of rain for our whole trip and the pool and pool table helped with that. The only two things I would say about this hotel that were negative was the walls are very thin and if anyone took a shower we could really here the water running and the other negative and it was a big one for us was that they allow smoking inside the bar area. This shouldn't really be allowed especially since there are kids around. There are plenty if places outside for smokers. Keep it outside

This hotel is yet another shining example of Vietnamese hospitality and warmth. The staff are wonderful and the hotel itself is lovely. Rooms are very comfortable and well appointed, views over the rice paddies are beautiful. Short walk into town, but a shuttle bus available if you need it, plus bikes are there to borrow as well. Breakfast is fantastic, great range of food. We stayed 4 nights and could have stayed longer as we enjoyed relaxing and wandering around the town, having coffee watching the world go by. I would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: ask for a room overlooking rice paddies

We stayed at this new boutique hotel early Dec 13 for 3 nights, and it was really authentic with lovely pool, spa, patio and vietnamese garden. The hotel is 10 mins walk from centre of village which we like as it is authentic Vietnam and not just a beach Med type resort .
The restaurant breakfast was beautifully presented with lovely Buffett, chef and staff where very helpful and keen to serve . We wished we could have tried the dinner but arrived back to late .
Spotlessly clean everywhere ,great wi if also with 3 Apple Macs in the lounge free to use.

Next to a paddy field ,lovely bar, cannot fault and will return next time in Vietnam.

We stayed in lots of hotels during 7 wks away but this was the best and great value at approx £50 bb per night for 2.

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking the lovely pool and chill area
