“Great resort”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

We stayed at the Hoi An Beach Resort in March after researching many different options.

I have to say that we were delighted by our choice. Some friends had stayed in Hoi An previously and said it's worth staying by the sea out of the city. How true. Hoi An is lovely but it was nice to get a little peace and quiet after staying in Saigon.

We stayed in a river view villa and it was beautiful - much better than the ocean view (don't opt for that) The pool was great the breakfast was fine and the shuttle into Hoi An was good, There are some great local restaurants too.

I've read some reviews about the resort and all we can say is that they must have been very unlucky. We loved it and would stay there again without hesitation,

Room Tip: River view villa is a must

My husband and I thought this hotel was great. The location was perfect for us as we wanted to be on the beach but close enough to the town which the hotel had a free shuttle bus every day that could take you into town and pick you up at various times of the day. The staff were incredibly friendly, the rooms modern and clean. We would definitely go back again.

Room Tip: Pick a room on the River side and not the beach side as the road noise will wake you up early if you...

River views for breakfast with the private beach over the road for the cooling breeze and swimming - perfect for our family of 5 during our 5 nights in Hoi An.

Whilst it is a taxi ride from the centre of Hoi An it is a great place to relax.

The Cao Cao and Bao Han Restaurants nearby were great for meals and laundry.

Definitely recommend if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle.

Situated right on the beach with just a minor road separating the two.
Beautiful tasteful reception. Big and airy.
The rooms reflected this style. Good size and airy with effective air con. Wi-Fi was faultless and free, essential for keeping in touch with family in England.
As the beach and the sea is at the front, similarly there is the river at the rear. The breakfast / dining area also serves as the bar and overlooks the river. A cracking place to have breakfast or a beer in the evening.
Within walking distance, just, of a few touristy shops or take the hotel shuttle into town. Its well worth the trip. Hoi An itself is a fabulous place. During the day you have the covered market which presents a wealth of different opportunities for your camera. There are ATM's, bars, restaurants, and the whole selection of shops for tourists and locals alike.
In the evening the whole mood of the place changes and is geared mainly for the tourist market. Well worth the visit nonetheless.
Then back to the hotel, ten minutes taxi drive or so. The gardens are well kept and well lit.
I would recommend this hotel without any hesitation but would ensure it was used as a base to get out and about. The location is wasted if you just want to laze on a beach though that in itself would be pleasant. The infinity pool is certainly a pleasurable place to stay if you just want to catch some rays.

Room Tip: An upper floor room on the front would give a better view of the beach. There are only two floors.

My husband and I were on holiday in Hoi An in March 2014. We stayed at the resort for four nights. Very impressed by the room and overall service. The pools (one being an infinity pool overlooking the river) were great. The restaurant was very nice too; breakfast every morning was yummy. We are vegetarians and found that there were plenty of choices. One downside was the fitness center. Since we were in the midst of training for a marathon, we had hoped for a more robust fitness room. There was only one half-decent treadmill, an old broken bike, an antiquated eliptical machine, and plastic weights. We understand most guests may not be concerned about a stellar fitness room, but it was a little disappointing, especially in comparison to the rest of the hotel. It shouldn't be a deterrant...definitley stay here! It's a beautiful resort and their private beach is a plus! We'd stay here again.

Room Tip: Corner room, garden level overlooking the river. Great room!

i have stayed at this Resort last year and loved it again.
last year we looked around at other places to stay in Hoi An, but came back to this resort.
This Resort has the benefits of being at the beach and the river.
It is about a 10 minute car or bus ride to the central city.
The resort has a free hotel bus that can take you there and back almost every hour until 10.00pm
The staff are great and recently the resort had some renovations. i personally liked the old style Vietnamese decor, but you now have the choice of modern stay rooms or traditional rooms.
The morning breakfast view of of the river and the tug fishing boats is magical and beautiful.
if you have been to Hoi An before you will know that it is a slower paced city but stunning.
the people of this city also reflect this as very friendly and just happy to see visitors.
i highly recommend this city and this resort.

Room Tip: there are two types of rooms style Vietnamese decor, but you now have the choice of modern stay roo...

I gotta say, this is a very picturesque hotel. The gardens are immaculate and the villas are nice enough. They are basic and clean. The pool is beautiful, overlooking the river. They have a private beach, but it's nothing to rave about. Coming from Australia, maybe my expectations were a little high.

Compared to other hotels in Vietnam, I thought this was a little overpriced for what it is. The gym is very basic and the the buffet breakfast includes the processed cheese with wrappers on! The fruit was nice, but noticed they only put dragon fruit out on certain days. My friend ordered a Vietnamese Coffee and was told it would cost extra. I would have expected this to be included in the breakfast rate. I didn't try the dinner due to reading bad reviews on here.

When asking the front desk about Cham Island, I was told they could organise a snorkeling tour which is popular, to see all the coral and fish. As you'll read on here, there is no coral, nor any fish.

Take this review with a grain of salt of you want to relax by the pool or have a young family. If you want to experience the charm or the city, stay elsewhere.
