Description: We have now reopened in new premises near Hoi An Market - welcome to Samurai Kitchen v2. Our concept is to introduce home-style cooking and dishes in the way they are prepared and served in Japanese homes. We apologize, but we are not yet able to offer Sushi and Sashimi. With only 5 tables, we recommend reservations to avoid disappointment.

“Uninspiring and overpriced”
Reviewed 21 August 2014

We went to Samurai with high expectations based on the previous reviews. We are lovers of Japanese food and familiar with family style Japanese food. We were truly disappointed.

The premises were dingy and rundown, the host was friendly and reserved later. The food was dull and boring and expensive for what we got.

“A good Japanese restaurant out of the ordinary”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

This Japanese restaurant is in the lovely old town of Hoi An and while the setting is not great and the facilities are not too appealing, they serve very good traditional Japanese food without sushi! Dishes in General were very good although some if them sort if great. If you like Japanese food this is a good choice

“Awesome Food, Awesome Chef!”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

I love Okonomiyaki and it did not disappoint here at Samurai Kitchen.

Great little spot right next to the market with an awesome chef/owner - who was kind enough to take the time to show us some origami PLUS reveal his cooking method and recipe of Okonomiyaki which we'll be taking back home with us to try.

Thanks again - will back here next time I'm in Hoi An.

“Really enjoyed the great Japanese food”
Reviewed 6 August 2014 via mobile

Had a great meal here tonight. All dishes were delicious (pork tonkatsu was my favourite though) and we had sake alongside that was recommended by the owner and very good. Beautiful serving glasses! Service was great too and we felt very welcome. It's a little hard to find, as it's just on the other side of the market. But still very close to all the old town sights. If you're feeling like a non-Vietnamese meal I'd highly recommend it. Loved the origami chopstick holders too!
