“The highlight of my trip to Vietnam”
Reviewed 27 June 2014

I stayed here for 5 days during my travels around this country and must say it became the highlight of the trip for me and my 2 friends. You may find it a bit strange when arriving by taxi as its situated right in the heart of a very old village but local taxis take you back into the city centre for about £2....., But once inside its a paradise lodge on the beach....perfect to just relax.!! The rooms are very clean and well done with all the usual modern facilities and a garden path takes you on to the beach. The rooms are amazing value with a great breakfast included cooked by the lovely staff........and the staff are the best part of the place! All the staff can not do enough for you! We were met by a young man Duc , who introduced himself as the receptionist....but proved to be far more than that!! He is there almost all the time and could not do enough for us! His service was better than that of many 5 star hotels I've stayed in with my travels for work, His local knowledge was excellent and every time proved more trustworthy than the guide books we read....he even recommended some room service from a local restaurant who delivered the best meal we ate in Vietnam for an amazingly cheap price. This place is great value.....a great place and we want to go back again for longer! But most of all thank you Duc!!! He made our holiday the best we have ever had!! Phil Simmons

First let me say that as you can see on the pictures the floor and most of the bathroom walls are raw concrete that has been coated. If this is not your taste, consider staying somewhere else. We liked it, but we thought that this should be pointed out. Also one should know that the hotel is situated in the middle of a fishing village. Life starts early here, so expect to hear according noise as the sun rises. But if you take the chance to get up early and go to the beach, you´ll find that a lot of people do their exercise there in the morning. We went to the beach early in the morning and late in the evening before sunset.
We had the room on the first floor of the Coco Villa. The room was clean, everything worked as expected. The bed had a soft top layer to make it more comfortable for European visitors. The AC worked silently, so one can sleep well. When we arrived, our fridge was stuffed with water and different drinks including beear, coke, 7up etc. There were snacks, coffee, fresh fruit. Some of these were free, other did cost a small amount of money. In addition to this, we had a brand new TV, a ceiling fan and a dimmable bedlight.
But the thing that made the week we stayed here so extraordinary was the service. Dung, who was introduced to us as receptionist, cared for us in a way noone had ever done before. She fed our child (3,5 years old), she went to the market with us to buy food which she and the ther ladies then prepared for us. She gave me motorbike ride to the ATM when I ran out of cash. She came early in the morning and left late in the evening. Together with the two other ladies she was the good soul of this place.
In the first evening we ate out in a reataurant clled "Soul Kitchen", some 800m away down the beach. The food was good, the view was perfect and they had live music. But the food we had there can not compare to what Dung and her Ladies prepared for us. I encourage everyone to ask Dung to arrange dinner.
We will definetely be coming back.

Room Tip: We would choose the top floor again, but basically the rooms are all equally equipped. This is only...

We booked the two bedroom villa for 4 days at the end of our month in Vietnam. We enjoyed our time here, it was very relaxing and peaceful....much needed after a busy month of travelling around this beautiful country.

The two bedroom villa is actually two separate units, each with a queen size bed and full bathroom. The rooms are apart from each other so best for couples travelling together or a family with older children. It is in the midst of a small village, about a 5-10 minute walk to the beach. We found it easy to sleep at night, the air conditioning worked fabulous, and the beds were very comfortable. There was a well stocked fridge, lots of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash plus towels for the beach. We really enjoyed the daybeds outside of the rooms too, great for an afternoon snooze after a day on the beach.

The staff were very helpful. They loaned us bicycles for going into Hoi An, took us to the local mini-market to help us buy coffee, and made the BEST breakfasts (try the pineapple pancakes!). Even the family dog joined in to lounge with us on the private patios.

This villa is about 20-30 minutes by bicycle into Hoi An so it is secluded. However there are several good places to eat nearby and lots of little shops to grab a cold beer. An Bang beach is almost deserted during the day. The water is amazing, crystal clear and warm with a nice white sand. At night it becomes a lively party as the locals come to swim and eat on the beach.

If you are looking to chill out for a few days, you can't go wrong with this gem of a hotel.

As the title, it's an so awesome place for couples to hideaway from the noisy polluted city and away from the busy at work. We are the young marriage couple, spent here 3 days for chilling out after marriage. Well let see, nice and cool swimming in the morning, beautiful dinner in Hoian which is only 15 minutes by taxi from Anbang Hideaway resort, nite out at restaurant in the beach, listening to the ocean waving with its awesome breezes. Couldnt be more fantastics, we did have great time and unforgetable moments together, and surely did heaps fotos. Maybe "bloody" hot but cheap bear is great!" as my Aussie friend saying. Peaceful like heaven on earth.

What a great location to de-stress and enjoy a special part of Vietnam. Air-Conditioned as well as ceiling fans, the owners have made use of natural timbers for great lights and tables. Ornate use of sticks washed up on the beach to make racks in the bathroom. Bed is huge and extremely comfortable. Wifi and cable TV included as well as a cooked breakfast. I don't want to leave!

Stayed for 7 nights in April, 2014. Travelled as a family with our 4 and 6 year old children. Every minute of our stay was fantastic, from the attentive staff to the excellent location. We were met on arrival by Duc who was definitely there to attend to our every need. I would be writing for hours if I detailed everything Duc did to make our stay a dream. We were really made to feel at home here and our children enjoyed playing with the local kids in the village.
We stayed in the Beachfront Villa and were really impressed with the condition and cleanliness of the room.
We utilised the bikes provided a number of times for trips into Hoi An which was an easy 20 minute ride away. There is plenty to do in the area. A must do is to have a feast prepared and delivered to your room off the in house menu. The food was some of the best food we ate on our trip away. We ate a number of times at a little restaurant that was down the road out the back, opposite the pharmacy, pretty sure it was called the Tamarind Tree. It was fairly newly opened and the food was fantastic.
We are in the process of planning our next trip back and will definitely be including a longer stay at An Bang Beach Hideaway.

Room Tip: During the week we got to have a look through all the rooms. They were all spotless. Our preferenc...

We stayed at An Bang Beach Hideaway from April 28th to May 3rd, which we booked in January through Agoda as An Bang Beach Hideaway did not respond to my 2 inquiries. Our first evening was spent in a superior twin room in Coco Villa. The accommodation was superb and the location was just a short stroll from the beach. Based on this evening we would have given a 5 star review. Our family was excited to move to our "2 bedroom family villa", which we had also booked through Agoda the following day and assumed it was one of the beach front villas featured on the website.
We were shocked to discover that our "2 bedroom family villa" was in an alternate location about a 15 minute walk from the beach and the other villas operated by An Bang Beach Hideaway. While this might not sound far, it provided a vastly different experience. We were close to the neighbors, who were having a wedding. Instead of hearing the waves breaking as we had at Coco Villa we were subjected to loud techno music for a full day as well as the noisy set up and clean up on the preceding and following days commencing at 4:30a.m. Every morning we were woken at around 5:00a.m. by the government loudspeakers and noise from the surrounding villagers as they went about their daily activities.
Secondly our 2 bedroom family villa was actually 2 separate rooms that did not connect and had separate entrances. Additionally, as they were separated by the staff's kitchen and rooms they were a fair distance from one another. This configuration did not work for our family as we were travelling with our 8 year old daughter who we would not have heard during the night if she woke up or if she needed anything. This might be suitable for families with older children/ multiple children or couples travelling together. The rooms were comfortable and Lynn was very attentive.
The manager, Dung, was aware of how we felt and I thought she tried to some extent to make up for the situation. Upon check-out she discounted the room and refunded us 68USD but I felt refunding us for a full day (109USD) given the disruption caused by the wedding, would have been more appropriate. I let her know that I felt that the website by not including this property was deceptive as was the description of the two separate rooms on Agoda as a 2 family villa. I suggested she change the website to include this property, which she assured us would be done by May 7th. At the time of writing this review (May 10th) this has not been done.
Finally, on the advice of other traveler's we arranged an airport transfer as we were arriving after dark. I followed up the evening before to confirm. There was no one waiting for us at the airport as arranged.

Room Tip: Be sure to confirm directly with An Bang Beach Hideaway the accommodation you have been assigned to...
