What a remarkable, friendly, place this is! We have never stayed at a resort before where all guests were invited to the end-of-year party for staff. Oh my goodness, the party had been arranged under a marquee in the resort grounds and it was absolutely wonderful to see the staff (and guests) enjoying themselves. There was singing, dancing, great food and free-flow beer. Vietnamese people certainly know how to enjoy themselves, and it was lovely that we foreign guests were able to join in and enjoy the event. Thank you to the management and staff!
This newly-opened resort, as its name implies, is planned and designed in a village-style format. There are pleasant walkways through gardens with ornamental ponds full of water lilies, and it is in a very peaceful setting overlooking rice paddies and a water coconut plantation. Our room was large and spacious with all modern facilities, including a laptop for guest use. We especially loved the tropical rain shower, and also the huge stone bath (big enough for 2!) which was an interesting feature within the room.
Breakfast was one of the best we’ve had in Viet Nam. A beautiful display of fresh pastries, breads and waffles, luscious fruit, an egg station, bacon, sausages, tomatoes, potatoes, soup, salad and Vietnamese noodles! What we loved most was sitting down to breakfast and being served immediately with tea or coffee – just wonderful.
We were very impressed with the staff at the resort. They are all newly appointed and are so genuinely helpful and attentive. The ones I spoke to all said they loved their jobs and it was obvious that they were excited to be a part of this new venture. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and we were asked on several occasions by Tien, the Front Office Manager, and Khanh, the F&B Manager, to give our comments and offer suggestions about the resort and the service. Our only comment is “Carry on exactly as you are – you’re doing a brilliant job!”.
Thank you all for a wonderful stay. We can’t wait to come back!
- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- Our resort is the ideal base for exploring the Hoi An area, and especially the lifestyles of the Hoi An people. You will discover the simpleness and truthfulness that is in the hearts of local residents. This small historic town remains firmly anchored in the past, and proudly preserves its antique wooden buildings and quaint streets fronting onto a peaceful river scene. Hoi An people possess a graceful smile. Such a smile will balance all of your emotions, thus more and more visitors love to stay for some more days to be truly alive in Hoi An's lifestyle. Some friends that we know have lived here in the local community for tens of years. History has been viewed as having a nourishing effect on people's spiritual lives; therefore, there is no doubt that 'staying for some more days' has become a nice saying we often hear from visitors. The reasons were bowls of Quang noodles and 'Cao Lau'. Wide 'non la'. Paddy fields. Lines of coconuts. White stork families. Or is it because of local youngsters' bright white teeth? Or the blackened ones of aged ladies and gentlemen who have devoted their lives to their fatherland? In the murmuring songs here and there, there is the creaking sound of the hammock and the rhythmic chanting of the paddy seeds. It can also be the magic of the storks every afternoon, fluttering in the air and then landing onto slender coconut leaves like perching pieces of transparent silk on the line between heaven and earth. ... more less
