I really enjoyed my stay at Anantara so much so that it prompted me to stay at another of their hotels when I visited Thailand. Being a solo traveller, I like the peace and quiet, and this is the only area which I felt let the hotel down as there was no separate pool for children. In fact the pool area is really small. That aside, the rest of the hotel offered exactly what I wanted from this part of my tour of Vietnam. Great location, comfortable rooms good food and two separate happy hours!
Just around the corner from Brother's cafe (great garden restaurant) and just a short walk to the market and old town.
I got some clothes made at Papillion Noir on the road leading to the Japanese bridge (hand painted silk, not cheap but excellent quality) can also recommend Q bar for light snacks and an excellent chocolate martini.
If Anantara had a pool suite option I would definitely return.
