“Nice hotel but some rooms have no window”
Reviewed 27 October 2011

Nice little hotel with good breakfast. Good loacation with 5 - 10 minute walking distance to the "historic" old town. Our room was clean but did not have a real window (just small blinds) which was a bit strange. We were offered a different room with garden view - which is a very nice view - but we did not want to invest an additional 20$ per night. Staff is friendly and there is a nice little pool with some sunbeds. Free internet access.

the hotel is very pretty, as are the rooms. the only major gripe we had was the low water pressure in our shower. admittedly, we didn't feel like expending the energy to mention it to the staff and change rooms, etc. minor gripe: the staff is so nice and friendly, but somehow, they weren't *really* helpful ... we'd just come from a hotel in hanoi where the staff was over-the-top helpful, so i know we had high expectations. e.g. we had laundry done, but they didn't notify us when it was finished - we happened to ask casually if it was done and it was just sitting there behind the front desk. as mentioned in other reviews, delicious breakfast and beautiful views of the water spinach fields were highlights. also, the location is great - easy walking distance from town and easy access to roads to the beach.

The centre of Hoi An is about a half hour taxi ride from the Danang Airport. The Thien Thanh Hotel is centrally located in a small quiet street. On arrival we were told that only one of the two deluxe rooms we booked were available and one of us would need to upgrade (at a cost of 15us dollars a night). We were shown the rooms first, the deluxe being at the front of the hotel on the street, the upgraded to the rear with balconys overlooking the fields. We both chose to upgrade to the back rooms. There are no lifts in this hotel but two stairs one servicing the front and one towards the back. They will bring and take down your luggage. Beware the cheapest rooms are in the centre and have no windows out. The room is beautiful with a welcoming design on the bed made out of the towells and scattered with rose petals. The bed has a mosquito net which we used but did not see any visable mosquitos in the room, maybe if you had the balcony door open in the evening or at a different time in the year. The flat screen tv is a good size with the added bonus of a dvd player. Robes and unbrellas are provided in the room. The bathroom was clean and adequate with a really hot shower over the bath. Each room has there own water storage tank so may be a problem if you have long showers. The buffet breakfast on the back deck was delicious and the surroundings beautiful. The hotel has a pool but the water was freezing as is mostly shaded but in hotter weather this would have been beautiful. The reception staff were helpful in organising a private car for the trip through the mountains to Hue, at a reasonable price as we had got a few prices around town previously. On leaving they gave the women a gift, which was very thoughtful. Would definately stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back are very quiet with the added bonus to be able to sit out on the balcony.

My family & I stayed for 6 days at Thien Thanh Hotel in late September 2011. We paid for a suite, which meant we had a balcony & view over the green fields. The room itself was nothing special, but it was clean & adequate. The deck overlooking the view was a beautiful spot to relax, breakfast was served here as well. The pool area was lovely. The staff were wonderfully friendly & more than happy to help us in any way. It was a short walk or bike ride to the river front.

We stayed in Hoi An for two nights at the end of trip around Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. Thien Thanh Hotel was an easy walk to the historic area of Hoi An. Breakfast was by far the best of all the hotels we have stayed in so far. The first room we were allocated looked out over the street, and with workers building over the road, had the potential to be quite noisy, so we asked for a room overlooking the spinach fields out the back. We upgraded to the suite, which was beautiful. Quiet, comfortable and spacious with a lovely view. The shower didn't provide hot water for much of our stay, but it wasn't a problem because the weather was reasonably warm, despite the heavy rains. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: ask for a room overlooking the fields.

we stayed here last september 24-26. though the amenities need some improvements but they are tolerable and manageable. more than anything else, what really surprised me and my husband is the hospitality that the hotel staff have shown us.

from the time i have inquired via email three months ago and up to the time we have left the hotel, the hotel staff has always been very warm and helpful without expecting anything in return (tips).

it is also very close to the shopping and dining areas so all you need to have is a map of the town which the hotel will give you upon arrival, and you're good to go.

we arrived in hoi an just in time for the rainy season to have started so we plan to go back during the summer season next year :)

Having initially stayed at a different hotel down the streets, we found everything we wanted at Thien Thanh: bright clean rooms, quietness, excellent service, and a surprising view on an herb field behind the hotel. We opted out of breakfast, thus saving $20 per night yet at $50 per night this hotel is still on an expensive side for Hoi An. The employees were very professional and polite, greeting us with smiles every morning and inquiring if everything was going well. The location is minutes from the Old Town, restaurants, and tailor shops and various tours can be booked at the front desk. A nice touch were the umbrellas provided by the hotel which proved to be especially useful since it poured for 4 days of our stay.

On a slightly negative note, we booked a car to the airport with the front desk and it arrived with soaking wet seats, thus delivering us to the airport with wet pants! Would have been funny any other time, but not at 4am...
