We arrived in Hoi An during the hottest months of summer with our two daughters. We chose Thien Thanh because it had a cool, covered pool, and we were surprised to receive really excellent service. We hadn't pre-booked and my husband was able to bargain for the family room. For $50 it was excellent value : four queen sized beds and plenty of room and privacy. We ended up staying a week and grew very attached to the staff who really went out of their way to make us feel at home, including buying avocados for our breakfast and inviting us to taste their staff lunch. Breakfast on the deck overlooking the water spinach fields was a wonderful, tranquil way to start our days. We would most certainly return.

We had a great time in this beautiful hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They can give you all the information you need and will arrange all kinds of trips if required (and no ripp-off). The rooms were clean and spacious, The view of the balcony breathtaking (sunset!!) overlooking the fields. A great pool area. Breakfast was the best we had in Vietnam (every day a special local cake). Just a few minutes walk from old Hoi An (a city you have to visit when in vietnam!) and close to the beach (10 minutes by bike).

We stayed here 4 nights, the beds are comfortable and the breakfast was excellent served on the patio overlooking the spinach fields. I felt the location was quite good, not that far from town. I understand that Vietnam has power cuts and the Thien Thanh has its own generator but on a 40 degree day after power had been restored other rooms had their aircon on when we asked we were told the power hadn't reached our room, also i'm happy to have a cold shower when its that hot but twice there was no water, the bathroom door and front door wouldn't close unless you slammed them quite hard, At $45.00 the rooms are way overpriced, my advice if your travelling to Hoi An in the off season all hotels are prepared to barter for the custom, we could have saved $15.00 per night

We were well looked after for the three nights we stayed at this attractive hotel. The room was attractive, good lighting, balcony where we could hang a shirt to dry, bath and shower, free wifi (also free internet in the lobby), an undercover pool (which meant it was beautifully refreshing and we couldn't get burnt, deck overlooking rice fields where a generous, delicious breakfast was served (including eggs and pancakes cooked on the spot), and the staff were very helpful (English was spoken by a large percentage of them). Good restaurants nearby and a pleasant stroll to the pedestrian-only precinct of the old town.

I'm surprised that a previous reviewer found the staff here unfriendly, we found them very friendly.
The rooms themselves are clean and nice, the cleaners leave flower petals on the bed and bath, which is a nice touch if you're in to that sort of thing.
The only trouble with the room was the shower head wasn't working properly so there was low water pressure. It should be okay in most rooms.
There is a nice pool, though it's not heated and is in the shade so it's cold in the evenings. That's fine if you're in need of a cool down.
