We stayed 4 nights at the Nhi Nhi in Hoi An, and although it's about a 5-10 minute walk from the centre, it's a decent hotel, rooms very clean, we paid USD 27 per night, they were open to offering discount if you stayed more than 4 nights.

Staff are very helpful, but are also very clingy and very high maintenance, which can get a bit annoying after a while. For example the staff asked us what we were doing that day, and we said we were going to try to get onto a cooking class that afternoon, but wasn't sure which one yet. They smiled and said have a good time and we wandered into town. We tried to book ourselves into a cooking class that afternoon, but most were full, so we booked into one for the following day. After returning to the hotel later that evening, we were asked by the same staff if we'd enjoyed our cooking class. We explained that all the ones we'd tried to get on were full, and that we were booked in for the morning. However, this resulted in indignation from the staff, who begun to moan that we'd told them we were doing the class that afternoon, and why had we not told them that our plans had changed?

Their transfer service to Danang airport is USD 17, but we found it for USD 10 from one of the travel agencies in town.

Checked in after a long 4-hour bus trip from Hue and was greeted by the friendliest staff, a glass of iced tea, and a wet face cloth to freshen up with during the painless sit-down check-in process. Stayed for four days the beginning of December 2008 @ $42/N. Book directly with the hotel and it is only $35. The hotel is a leisurely 10-minute walk or 3-minute bike ride from the Japanese Covered Bridge in the Old Quarter. The room comes complete with a computer with fast DSL, desk and two reasonably comfortable chairs, cable TV (with CNBC, 2 movie channels, Discovery, etc), fridge, small balcony with table and 2 chairs overlooking the courtyard pool, bathtub with shower (not much water pressure) but no shower curtain, free use of bicycle, and fresh fruit plate daily. The little extras include rose petals in the bathroom sink and a cut flowers on the queen size bed. There are different sizes of double rooms. The larger doubles tend to be given to those who stay more than a couple of days. http://www.nhinhihotel.com.vn. The breakfast menu is limited, eggs, pancakes, fresh juices, tea and coffee. There is no in room safe as advertised on their website. As well you are charged for the bottled water, which the web site indicates is included with the room (not a big deal as it is only 8K VD for 1.5 L, i.e. <50 cents). The hotel has an extensive Vietnamese and European menu and offers cooking classes ($15 for one person, $10 each for 2 –5). Unlike the restaurants in town, at the hotel you can choose what dishes you want to learn to cook. Free pickup from the bus, $15 private car to airport in Danang.

We are a family of four and stayed at the Nhi Nhi on the 26th-27th September. We booked a family room through Wotif.com for $40.00 a night. When we got their they had given us two rooms next to each other for the same price, as the family room was really for a family with small children, which we were very pleased about. The rooms were spacious and clean and had a/c.
Breakfast is included and is adequate.
If you want your room cleaned make sure you put your door tag out.One review suggested that hotel Nhi Nhi was to far away from the main part of Hoi An,we felt it was situated in a good location about 5 minutes walk from the japanese covered bridge. The staff at the Nhi Nhi were pleasent and helped make our stay enjoyable. After walking around Hoi An on a 38-40 degree day it was nice to be given a cool drink on our arrival back at the hotel and cool off in the pool.
They also arranged our overnight train tickets(soft sleeper) from Hue to Hanoi and had them delivered to the hotel.
I will never forget seeing my daughter sitting in reception drinking a mango lassi having her hair platted by the reception girls or the day we left on the bus to Hue seeing the reception girls running outside in their colorful Ao Dai to wave us goodbye.
If we came back to Hoi An we would certainly stay at Hotel Nhi Nhi again,

Reservation was arranged by our previous hotel, Hotlday Hotel, in Hue. We were picked up by taxi from the bus station - as arranged. Hotel - clean - in a quiet location - but - unless you are a VERY fast walker - more than the five minutes from Hoi An centre. Staff friendly - in fact too friendly. Had a happy stay here - problems started after we left. Nhi Nhi arranged a reservation - on their recommendation - of a hotel in Nha Trang. This hotel - Hang Hi - or Maritime - was the worst hotel I stayed in for both trips to Vietnam. I was extremely disappointed with Nhi Nhi recommendation - the review I do of the Maritime will be scathing - if this is the last hotel available in Nha Trang - leve town instead of staying there

We arrived at Nhi Nhi late at night and were unsure about the location, but by the second day we loved the place. The hotel itself is perfect value for money with a fresh included breakfast and the staff are fun and genuine. They hire out push bikes for 1 dollar a day which is a great way to get to the markets or to the beach. I would love to stay at Nhi Nhi again, was one of my favourite places in vietnam..

We loved the Nhi Nhi. This was by far the absolute best hotel we stayed at while in the country (thanks to an outstanding staff) and our stay in Hoi An was the high lite of our trip to Vietnam. (We traversed the whole country from Hanoi to Saigon) The girls at the front desk quickly learned the four of us by first name and took the time to help us with anything we needed and also to visit with us while we were hanging around the lobby. On our last day, after checking out and returning back from an afternoon excursion, they allowed us to use a room to shower and change before catching our bus. We were sad to leave and the staff genuinely seemed sad to see us go.

The hotel is situated a little outside of the center, but we felt that it was an easy walk. One day we rented bikes and another we rented scooters from the hotel. That worked out very well. The pool was a nice escape from the heat, and the rooms were simple and comfortable.

I find it hard to subscribe to previous raving reviews posted about this hotel. In fact, it is nothing special - it is built according to the same plan as dozens of other hotels in Hoi An (that is, a three-storey construction with a central pool) and offers the same range of services.

My room was ok but the ceiling lights had apparently been broken a while ago and replaced with some improvised lighting arrangements. The reading lamp was fixed to the bedside table which, in its turn, was fixed to the floor too far from the bed. These small details apart, the staff were nice and attentive and the breakfast was a la carte (vietnamese food or eggs european style).

My main disappointment was the hotel location - for such a small town as Hoi An is, it is simply too far from the city centre. Admittedly, it is just a ten-minute walk on foot to the Japanese Bridge, but you walk along a dusty and busy road. Had I known that in advance, I would have chosen a more central accommodation which abound for the same price.
