“Gorgeous, Romantic Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2011

Loved the attention to the romantic detail, as in the rose petals and huge bunch of roses in your room. Not to mention the basket of fruit, that was topped up regularly and the spacious room.
No bath, but who cares when you have plants, more flowers and pebbles in your shower area. The hotel felt like a Spa, without being one.
Breakfast was amazing, the choice goes on forever and was of a fantastic culinary standard!. Breakfast, Lunch, Drinks and Dinner, all can be served on the lawn area of the hotel, adds another comfortable relaxed element to the hotel. Location of hotel is great, bicycles provided, free of charge to get around on. We would stay again in a heartbeat, loved it, loved it, loved it!
One thing to be aware of I suppose, for some travellers, there is no swimming pool,
I LOVED THE FACT THERE IS NO POOL (no noisy yahoos), but it was hot when we were in Hoi An and I believe most of the time it is, so if your idea of a relaxing getaway holiday, includes wallowing by the pool, you cannot, at this time, do it here.

We loved staying at this hotel! It was charming, romantic and inviting and we didn’t want to check out. On arrival we received cold towels, a welcome drink, fresh fruit and sweets. Our room was decorated nicely with heaps of fresh flowers throughout the room, fruit basket, stocked mini bar with very reasonable prices, air con and an air purifier! The room was filled with complimentary hotel amenities! We loved having free use of WI-Fi and a computer in your own room. The room we booked was quite small, so if you would like more space you should upgrade to a larger room.

The buffet breakfast was genuinely the best we had in Vietnam and was very good quality, they had everything right down to cream caramel and chocolate cake! We used the free bikes multiple times per day and would recommend you get a hotel that provides this service. The location was very good in that you could be back at your room within 5 minutes on the bike. We had fun navigating the traffic!

We booked for 3 nights and then headed to a resort at the beach, and as soon as we checked into our new hotel we were disappointed compared to this hotel and rang them to see if we could come back! Unfortunately they were fully booked. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

There were three of us staying in two bedrooms in this beautiful hotel. We booked a superior room, overlooking the garden, which was well worth the few extra dollars.

In addition to the other great comments that have been posted, which we agree with wholeheartedly, we want to mention the food in the evening which comprised of local set menus – a different menu every night – Hoi An specialities, Vietnamese Meats and Vietnamese seafood. All of these were presented impeccably in their garden courtyard, with the same great service that others have mentioned.

Nothing seemed too much trouble in this hotel. When we wanted to extend our room because of a late-night train, they arranged this – we had to move into one bedroom, as the hotel was nearly full again, but that was no hardship.

The table service was superb – almost to the point that if you poured your own water, the waiting staff would be straight over to help you. We did see other guests becoming a bit emotional when they cut the grass, due to their allergies, but we would say enjoy the tranquil atmosphere – you get so much back by being polite and calm in Asian countries (Vietnam is no exception).

They were renovating their old café whilst we were there, so there was a little noise, but when the hotel is this good, you forgive these small things. It was great to see the staff being proud enough of the new building to tell us what the plans were.

We had a couple of treatments at the spa, which were good value and literally at the other side of the hotel grounds. We don’t know if this is the best spa available, but there were a good selection of treatments, great service, high standards of cleanliness and very reasonable prices.

The free bicycles were an absolute winner at this hotel and allowed us to get into town for a few drinks – we would recommend the Sleepy Gecko on Cam Island for sundowners to see the river scene change during dusk. It’s literally a 3 minute bicycle ride away. There’s also a convenient place opposite to rent motorcycles from which were good quality and helped us to get around.

Our perfect day in Hoi An would be breakfast at the hotel, rent automatic mopeds and go to the sights in Hoi An and then drive out to the Marble Mountains. For a lunchtime drink, return and park the bikes at Cua Dai Beach and then have a couple of hours catching the rays. (Try to seek out the beach peddlar who has a few rhymes like “don’t be lazy, be cr-azy” and “don’t worry, chicken curry” – can’t do it justice here – you have to hear it!). Late afternoon, head back to the hotel and, on the way, stop off at the SOA café (177 Cua Dai) for a snack of Pho and smoothies. Swap the mopeds for bicycles and head to the Sleepy Gecko for sundowners – get back to the hotel for showers and dinner. This is simply the best R&R.

We hope you enjoy this hotel as much as we did.

We booked this hotel because we couldn't get into a beach resort until the following night, but as it turned out we could have happily stayed here longer. Close walking proximity to town but far enough away for peace and quiet. The staff were lovely and all proud of their place of employment.
Every detail was taken care of (with love) starting from the airport pick up, to the cool drink and towel at arrival in the garden while they checked you in, to the petals on the bed/shower and the spa treatment.
A pool would have been nice but I would stay there again.

We only had one night in Hoi An and after reading other reviews I was very much looking forward to staying in this place. It certainly didn't disappoint. The hotel itself is a wonderful building and in the evening parts of it are decked in fairy lights which provides a pretty and romantic setting. Upon arrival were were given some lovely welcome drinks and fruit and were then shown to our room. The room itself was slightly small and cluttered but we were still very happy with it. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom products were divine. The hotel is only a short walk to the old town which was perfect. The hotel has bikes that can also be used at no extra charge so my husband and I cycled to the beach (about 5km away) which was a beautiful ride. The breakfast the next day was one of the best we had in Vietnam and was served in the lovely grounds. The service was excellent throughout and overall, we really enjoyed our stay and wished we could have stayed for longer!

rooms were quite nice but the size of show boxes, this hotel was 3 times the price of equivalent ones in the town and no pool, breakfast was excellent but the staff had a tired "like it or lump it" attitude, we asked for a late check out and was refused, they said the hotel was full when it clearly wasn't, they said we could use a lend room to shower & cahnge, this turned out to be a small toilet at the back of the restaurant!

Room Tip: go to another hotel

A gorgeous little oasis in Hoi An with the best buffet breakfast I have ever had at a hotel. The staff are incredible and so helpful, at Ha An attention to detail is what this hotel is all about. Highly recommend the airport pick-up, will be staying here again!!
