“Great base for exploring a beautiful town”
Reviewed 11 September 2012

We initially booked 5 nights but then added an extra 3 as we loved Hoi An so much and the hotel was exactly what we wanted. The staff here are all very friendly and accommodating, they remember your names and give you a free map of the area. Hoi An is a very small town so you quickly get your bearings. We booked a standard room and knew that some rooms had a computer in them so we asked in advance if we could get one that did and they sorted that out for us which really helped plan our trip, although the computer uses wifi that can be quite temperamental which was the only annoying thing. The room was clean and spacious, the air conditioning worked well, there was a bath and a fridge and the hotel is very quiet as it is down a small side road. The room is cleaned and you get a free bottle of water each every day whcih is a nice touch. Breakfast is a basic buffet style and is served until 10am. There is a small pool at the back of the hotel which is great for cooling down after a hot day. The hotel is less than a ten minute walk to the Old Town by the river and is on the road that leads out to the lovely Cua Dai beach which is 3km away.

A great way of getting around Hoi An and visiting the beaches is by bicycle or if you are feeling adventurous motorbike, you can hire these from the small shop directly outside the hotel. The shop is run by a sweet woman named Minh who also sells water cheaper than the hotel and other drinks and snacks, she's a wonderful lady always smiling and asking how you are. We got to know her quite well over our stay and she made our trip even more memorable and enjoyable and it is great to support one of the local people. Her bicycles are in good working order and so cheap at only 20,000 dong a day, which means you can get to the Cua Dai beach in about twenty minutes and An Bang beach takes only slightly longer, both along flat and very scenic roads. We would definitely recommend her and we have attached a picture of her outside her little shop.

Fantastic clean and beautiful rooms with great breakfast. The women who work at Hai Au are absolutely beautiful in every way. Nothing we asked was ever too much trouble, even when I woke up one morning very ill, they did all they could to assist. So sad to leave!!! Thank you for making our trip such a memorable one. We miss you already :( Lots of love - Erika and Paul xoxoxoxoxox

We stayed from August 28-1st sept 2012. The people that work here were absolutely awesome!! Yummy, Ana, Sally, Tammy and we are sorry we forgot one more girls name. These ladies were so helpful and made us feel so welcome, remembering everyone's name and greeting us whenever we came through reception. The rooms were spacious and clean, and on arrival The bed had flower petal arrangements. Breakfast was good with variety. The pool was clean and really refreshing. Five to ten minute walk to everything in the ancient town. Drinks were very reasonable considering it was a hotel, and the restaurant did a two for one special on some spirits between 6-9pm. Thank you everyone at Hai Au for making our stay so memorable you all made our time in HoiAn really special.. Adrienne, Nick, Ross and Michelle.

Spent four days there. lovely, comfortable and conveniently located hotel. staff are extremely friendly and helpfull with their main priority being the guests. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are neat and tidy. They provide you with a computer in your room with access to the internet. Possibility to rent bicycles and motorcycles, 15 min from to both beaches and to city centre. Buffet breakfast with nice choice of dishes

My boyfriend and I are currently on our third night of a five night stay at the Hai Au Hotel and I can safely say for both of us that this is the best hotel we've stayed in so far on our trip around Vietnam.
We booked directly with the hotel via email and arranged a transfer from Da Nang airport and were greeted by a friendly driver who took us to the hotel where one of the porters kindly took our luggage to our room for us. The ladies at reception are incredibly helpful, supplying us with a map of Hoi An and recommending the best sights, tours and things to do during our stay. Our room is very spacious, we have a computer and free wifi and complimentary water and fresh towels everyday. The breakfast buffet is great, plenty of choice, take as much as you can eat and omelettes made to your liking! Unfortunately I came down with an ear infection yesterday but the ladies at reception pointed us in the direction of a great pharmacy and have called up to the room today to check on me and brought more water and have assured me that anything I need isn't too much trouble! I cannot rate this hotel high enough - a real gem in Hoi An.

I booked this and then changed the reservation about 4 times, but it was no problem at all - the staff went out of their way to fit around our needs. The location was great - yes a 10 min walk to the riverfront, but the path is through some amazing shops and restaurants, so was actually really good. Close to both beaches too. The room was large and clean, with a wonderful balcony to watch the soccer kids all day. The pool was also excellent after a day out in the sun. Breakfast was good too - both european and vietnamese dishes, although we pretty much just had the vietnamese every day - really fresh and yummy. We rented bikes from a woman out front of the hotel (not part of the hotel) and she was great, bikes and drinks very cheap - made me feel a lot better to support the local community as well as the bigger hotel too.

Room Tip: ask for a balcony - wonderful to sit out in the evenings

a vey accomodating hotel. After making the reservation we were able arrangements to be picked up at the DaNang Airport. The same driver also took us back to the DaNang railroad station. We arranged our tour to My Son. Their recommendation was for the 5am tour. You take the tour for the cool of the day, not the sunrise. A staff member waited at the entry for the pickup and reminded us that breakfast would be available on our return.
