“Stunning attention to detail”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

For 7 wonderful days & nights we called Fusion Maia home. For our 10th wedding anniversary we wanted something special and this delivered. Our room was fantastic- spacious with a king sized bed, separate lounge area and also a huge sunken bath. It then opened onto our own private court yard with our own plunge pool. Two great banana lounges were by our pool which always had sun if we wanted it. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with a daily change in the menu. Then there was the spa - the menu is limited but covers all basis from the relaxing swedish massage to the full on Thai fusion massage which involves some serious stretches! We had about 2 hours at the spa everyday and found that to be enough - there was no issue with not being able to have a treatment. There were two amazing wet edge pools - one next to the perfect, white sand beach and the other, near the day spa. We found the day spa nice when it had been a bit hot as it was cooler up there. There is a free shuttle to Hoi An which was always on time and air conditioned. It's about a 30min trip and had shuttles to co-incide with going in for dinner and out again. There are also bikes available from the Hoi An lounge (I wasn't brave enough!). It was also my husband's birthday whilst we were there and without prompting, they made it a special day for him including a surprise cake. All in all a great holiday and can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Room behind the beach cafe a bit noisy.

What a perfect place to stay, confidently quality, but still casual. This is a great experience, location amazing, staff were great, made us feel right at home. This is a fantastic 5 star resort and the all included spa services make it u inquest and absolutely the place to relax. Hoian is only 20 mins away the hotel runs a free shuttle service, villas all have private pool, a welcome sight after a day out and about.

We booked this resort after several days in lovely Hoi An with “spa” on our minds. Since our room wasn’t ready upon arrival (although the hotel had confirmed our arrival time days ahead) we retreated to the pool while we awaited our room. The infinity pool is spectacular and it looks upon the wide expanse of sand and the welcoming sea.

We were escorted off to our room in about an hour and were very disappointed that our villa was the furthest from the beach and adjacent to the hiway AND the employee parking lot. We suggested that a view (and the noise) of vehicles from our pool was not acceptable and were reassigned to another room within about thirty minutes. What a complete bummer of a start to our stay at Fusion Maia.

The villas are lovely and the private pool/outdoor space amazing. Amenities are good – although the lights/switches are anything but easy to decipher – the bed was beyond comfortable. Thank goodness the hi-tech coffee maker came with instructions.

We hurried off to our afternoon spa treatments which were excellent (natural living massage, Thai fusion massage, mindful energy, aroma hair therapy) and were able to subsequently grab two more evening spots (body scrub and aloe envelope) which were equally terrific. Don’t miss out on the spa swimming pool – with waterfall and without kids.

Food was ok – we had a late dinner by the pool and the breakfast buffet. We had booked breakfast on the beach (at the recommendation of Trip Advisors) but when we arrived the table had not been cleared from the earlier couple and the ambiance was not quite what the website images portrayed (mostly plastic table and chairs) – so, we bailed.

Now the fact that there were a number of couples with young kids/toddlers was definitely a bit perplexing. We love children – but this property, and the ultra relaxed adult atmosphere, was at complete odds with kids running around (a couple without much parent supervision), screaming in the restaurant and even peeing in the gardens (yep - had to watch that). Not really the hotel’s responsibility – but be forewarned of what you might encounter.

The spa staff was amazing – but the rest of the service staff was a bit disengaged and void of the charming Vietnamese personality we have come to love at other properties. The drab/utilitarian staff uniforms were also lacking any character or originality. And while the property is nice enough – it could be plopped down in any spot on the planet since it really lacked a local identity.

Not quite up to our expectations (especially for the steep cost) for the complete spa experience we had hoped for. The spa facilities and staff were great but the overall experience a bit flat.Glad we tried the Maia Fusion but may consider another option next time around.

We had a few non-negotiables for our honeymoon. We had to go somewhere we could relax, it had to be beautiful and with a private pool. Fusion Maia ticked all these boxes.

The one bedroom pool villas are absolutely stunning. The bed is enormous and so comfortable and to call the bathroom large would be an understatement. The sunken bath was a particular favourite of mine - not only was it deep, but it was long enough to get my 180cm tall frame into comfortably! The stand-out feature of the villa however would have to be the pool. It caught the morning light and afternoon shade, making it the perfect place to start and end the day. Little touches such as an in-room coffee machine and iPod made it truly feel like a home away from home.

We took advantage of the breakfast buffet each day. A huge selection of western and Vietnamese foods were on offer, complemented further by the a la carte menu from which you could order. Quite often we ate enough at breakfast not to need anything further until dinnertime.

The spa treatments are indulgent, with the Thai fusion massage being a favourite of both of ours. Jumping in the beautiful spa pool afterwards and sitting under the waterfall was a great way to let the relaxation sink in firmly.

The infinity pool by the beach was also absolutely beautiful and were in not for the fact that there was little shade around it, we could have spent all day in it. Instead we retreated to the shade of the nearby lounges, indulging in pool time between cocktails and snacks from the nearby bar.

Staff are absolutely delightful, with everyone, from restaurant to reception to maintenance staff always greeting you with a hello. We read reviews referring to a 'Fusionista' with confusion initially as we met ours on the 6th day of our stay. However, this really didn't matter as everyone, no matter their role, went out of their way to assist us with whatever queries we had. Once we had met our Fusionista, she checked on us regularly, always ready with a smile, chat and answer to our questions.

There is a complimentary shuttle bus into Hoi An each day but as our focus was on relaxation, we didn't go in to often. Staff have compiled a list of good restaurants both in Hoi An and Da Nang, so if you feel the need to get out for a bit you needn't look far for inspiration.

We loved Fusion Maia. Something tells me we may need a first anniversary trip back!

We take our honeymoons very seriously - it's a lot of responsibility knowing that this is such a special part of a couple's journey that they will remember for a lifetime.....and how special to know that you'd love to 're-live' this special memory for your anniversary - thank you!

We stayed for two weeks in 2012 and loved the whole concept, so we returned for three weeks this year, two weeks in, I can assure you that the Fusion Maia continues to raise the bar in all fronts.
All the positive reviews are truely merited. So be assured the WOW factor is here for all fortunate enough to stay at Fusion Maia.
All we can add is to say well done to all the staff, it would be unfair to mention names as the team work in all departments is outstanding and thank you for being so friendly and totally proffessional, your service to guests is the best we have encounered in the Far East.
We hope it will be possible to return in 2014.
Relaxed and very happy as we move into our final week!

We are frequently travellers to pool villa resorts in Thailand, and this is our first time in Denang.
We really enjoyed our stay at Fusion Maia. Everything was perfect including the design of the pool villa, quality of the food, friendliness of the staff; and how could anyone resist the all-inclusive-spa concept!

The hotel was extremely accommodative. They really meant it when they told you you can have breakfast anytime anywhere you want. We had an in-room breakfast 10pm at night because we missed breakfast that morning. There were others having a sofa set up at the beach with surrounded candles, and they do not charge you extra for any of these services!

We spent three nights here after 3 days in Siem Reap seeing Ankor Wat. We took a direct flight to Da Nang - very easy. This place did not dissappoint! We had a beachside "house" - absolutely beautiful setting, amazing private pool, great breakfast and very nice spa services. This place is not cheap but the value is really there. I hope we can get back someday!!!

It's a lovely combination combining the culture of Siem Reap and the lovely Beaches of Da Nang! In October it get's even easier with daily flights from Singapore to Da Nang (4 flights weekly stopping over in Siem Reap). We hope you can come back someday too!
