“A great experience in Vietnam”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 April 2014

The Hyatt resort and spa is a low rise beachfront property with lots to offer. We hired two oceanfront villas which provided easy access to the beach and also two pools in the villa , which were great fun for the kids. The villas were very spacious, except from the bedroom on the ground floor which was kind of small , relative to the two bedrooms on the first floor. Staff were very courteous though they can brush up their English language skills. Facilities at the resort are fantastic and there is lots to do for the kids. The Hyatt Club offering breakfast and happy hour drinks was amazing. If you want to try authentic local food then I sugget going to Hoi An as the restaurants in the hotel like beachhouse are pretty average. Overall I'd say a great property and a place for a wonderful holiday with kids.

Room Tip: Take the oceanfront villas with access to the club

Nice maintained hotel at a really wonderful beach! Maybe onE of the best places in Danang?
The only disturbing thing is that the staff + management is only focused on their trained processes and not on the costumer needs. They have to definitely rethink their strategy. This sad factor leads finally to a average rating.

Dear Zeitreise_73,
Thank you for posting your comments to Trip Advisor. I am glad that you found our resort to be the most impressive in Danang. My apologies if our team seemed a bit novice to you, Danang’s service industry is still in its infancy, and as our associates are all from the local area this should improve gradually over time. We hope next time you visit that you will notice the difference.
Warm Regards,

An easy trip from Hong Kong and could be done for even short stays. Terrific, new hotel on beautiful grounds, set right on China Beach - quite safe for swimming and boarding. We had a 2 bedroom residence and it was simply fantastic with incredible views and high end appointments. The pool was excellent and kept the kids happy for hours on end. The kids club was a bit light on activities and the resort could use an additional restaurant but the food we had was always excellent. 15 minutes to DaNang City (not that exciting) and 25 minutes to Hoi An (lovely).

The Hyatt in Danang is super busy but the staff still remain professional, friendly and helpful at all times.

We had to wait a while for our room even though we arrived after the required check out. We were shown to a lounge area to wait, we were a little surprised that we were not offered a complimentary drink for the inconvenience (we were given a menu to pay for our own drink) however when we checkout out we rang and asked for an extra two hours stay and we were granted this at no extra cost.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom residence. It was very modern and beautifully decorated with a great view of the resort and the ocean. We have stayed in many fully contained apartments before but none that are so well stocked in the kitchen. The only issue in the room was that there is no washing machine provided. The hotel booklet reminds us that we are not to hang our clothes on the balcony and instead must use the clothes line in the bathroom, however were not able to find a retractable line in either bathroom.

The beds were very comfortable, the hotel offers a turn down service and the bathroom amenities were well stocked each day.

The free internet was fast and reliable. We had free internet throughout the whole resort, even on the beach.

The facilities are fantastic. Club Hyatt had wonderful staff who looked after children and the room was set up like a fun childcare centre. There are many pools on the grounds. Guests are welcome to yoga, meditation and other activities, children can fly kites and participate in wall climbing (these actives appear to be without hyatt staff supervision). The main pool area is very large with a water slide and a beach pool area (with sand and sand toys) for younger children.

There are numerous restaurants to choose from. Unfortunately none of the menu's were vegan but they do have some vegetarian dishes. We would have loved more vietnamese choices.

We went to the bar in the evening. The live music was not too loud and staff again were friendly and professional.

The breakfast is great. A lot of selection, fresh brewed tea (not tea bags) and vegetarians catered for. A lot of people but so well organized by staff, something we have not encountered in other luxury hotels.

The exchange rate and ease of changing our USD currency was great.

There is a shuttle bus to Danang and Hoi An. It is not free but it is only around $3 USD each way. The driver drove quite fast. On the way home he played music… we loved that!

We paid for hotel limo service to take us the airport and back. Both cars were very comfortable and the drivers were safe and careful.

On the hotel grounds there are also a few gift shops, bakery and spa. At one of the gift shops the owner is not associated with Hyatt and you need to pay cash for your items, not charge them to your room. We were not aware of this and did not have money with us, however she let us leave with the items and come back to pay later. She was very nice.

Vietnamese people are lovely. We found them so friendly and professional at the Hyatt particularly, it was because of this that we were most disappointed by one experience during our stay. My daughter and I whilst walking on the grounds encountered a western Staff member, obviously in a senior role speaking in a very aggressive tone to a Vietnamese worker who appeared to be quite intimidated by his demeanor. I felt very sorry for anyone having to work in conditions like that.

We would and really do hope to visit again soon.

stayed here over easter 2014.
pros
good quality accommodation. not oust sanding but clean and comfortable and spacious.
amazing beach. almost deserted , fantastic sand and spotlessly clean. seems private to hyatt
large resort - didn't feel claustrophobic after a week
good quality food, especially buffets (which we normally avoid).
cons
service is willing but inefficient. seems to take ages to have any request met. english v poor for hyatt type hotel
quite a few dining options but they all essentially seems to pretty much have same menu
a number of pools too but very heavily chlorinated and hard on eyes, especially kids

We had an 8 night stay at the Hyatt Regency Da Nang in April, Resort is fantastic, we had our 3 children and stayed in a Residence Villa with beach view, Postioin of resort was ideal situated between Da Nang city and a short trip to Hoian. Staff were very friendly and keen to help, Pool is ideal for children.
Only improvement i would suggest is the choice of beds could be a liitle more soft.

Room Tip: If you decide to stay in A Residence villa try to aviod Building D , too far back from the main reso...
