“Great Location & Attention to detail in Hotel Architecutre”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

This is just a truly magical place to stay in. The location is scenic but more than the location its just the architecture of this resort. The rooms, the restaurants and views from each and every point of the resort are quite breath taking. The service is excellent and getting to Hoi An isnt that difficult too.
The only negative was the weather which was not what we expected and was unusual to have such cloudy weather in Jan.

This is the most beautiful hotel we've ever stayed in. No point using words to describe. Just look at the photos shared by the travellers and you would know why we are raving about this hotel. From the amazing views to the quaint in-house tram you take to descend to the beach, every part of this hotel was designed to make you feel like you are in heaven - and it worked.

When should you come? Generally speaking, the period between Jan and Mar would be the best. You may want to avoid July unless you want to be roasted red and brown - the heat was overbearing. Try to avoid going during the monsoon season (Sep to Dec) unless you'd like to blown off your balcony, or you like to be drenched on a beach without having to dip into the sea.

Not all aspects of the stay were perfect though. Just before bedtime, we realised that the pillows had a musty smell. To the hotel's credit, they immediately rectified the problem upon notification.
The room's stereo had a scratchy sound and the TV jammed up halfway - which we didn't bother reporting. Otherwise, the rooms are great and we appreciated the little touches - like the essential oil burning in the corner, the beach bag in the wardrobe etc.

Tips. As it takes quite long to travel to the hotel, you may wish to plan your trip such that you do all your sightseeings in Hoi An or Danang beforehand, and end off with a stay-in vacation in the hotel. Once you are in the hotel, you may become quite reluctant to leave simply because it is so captivating. What we did was to stay in a separate hotel in Hoi An and once we've had our fill of Hoi An's pretty sights, we made our way to Intercontinental Hotel and stayed there for the next few days without leaving the hotel. This worked for us because we were very happy in the hotel and honestly, it would be quite a hassle to travel out of the hotel and back again - not cheap too. However, this method may not work for everyone because the food in the hotel can get quite repetitive after the first 2- 3 days.

Food. The breakfast selection at Citrone is excellent. You won't need to eat much for lunch if you, like us, stuff yourself full during breakfast. For dinner, you could consider La Maison, but not too often unless you are prepared to spend at least USD150/pax/meal. The food in La Maison is nice and the atmosphere is very romantic. The finger food in the Long Bar were quite good too. All expensive, but good.

All in all, excellent holiday!

Room Tip: ALL the rooms face the sea. Standard room is good enough!

I just returned today from a holiday with my husband and 7 month old daughter and felt the need to immediately post a review to thank them for the beautiful ambiance and perfect service everywhere we turned. They were so accommodating and friendly with us and our daughter, we couldn't have asked for more. We have traveled a bit and stayed at some beautiful properties, but this topped it for us.

I realized I forgot my bathing suit there and they immediately responded with a photo to confirm it was in fact the one I was talking about and are mailing it to me.

This resort is a must see!!

Room Tip: Pay a bit more for the club level, it is well worth it. Get at least a terrace room, the large terr...

This hotel does some things that are just breathtaking and magical! The setting is incredible! The use of space was so picturesque and everywhere you turn is another WOW photo opportunity! The staff bend over backwards to be accommodating and helpful. There were smiles from all staff members and they were happy to chat, in English! (since I have no Vietnamese skills). Thanks to my yoga instructor, Lien I had a great morning stretching session. The breakfast buffet at Citron was out-of-this-world. There was even a chocolate fountain, and sitting outside- I just couldn't get enough of the view.
The drawback, was that there was no shuttle service to the airport. Instead, they called me a taxi and I had to shovel out an extra $17 to get to the airport in Danang.

Well I finally have some time to write about my stay at the InterContinental Danang. The only way to best capture the essence of my stay is to simply say it was the best resort my girlfriend and I have ever visited in all our travels.

The rooms overlooking the ocean, the great food, the staff, the beach, the list goes on. If you are considering visiting Danang then I strongly recommend you stay at this resort.

Do yourself a favour and stay at this resort! 5 Stars all the way! You can thank me later!

Room Tip: Stay in a room far from the hotel lobby area as it is a quiet part of the resort.
