A difficult hotel to capture in a few sentences. A 20 storey or so building right on the riverfront. The foyer is large and open, but the ceiling is much lower towards the reception desk. This makes it a little confined, particularly as the main doors are open and there is no air con, so it is quite hot. Check in was brisk, altho the command of English wasn't great. The hotel was far from full, yet we were put in a room on the 8th floor which was directly above the air con units. We changed rooms quickly and easily, but we shouldn't have been given the room in the first place. The room itself was excellent;-light, bright, quiet and with good views. Breakfast was good and, picking up on a complaint written by bobicse, the staff were watchful and attentive.
The pool area is a bit shabby.and the gym was unusable as there was no aircon and it was stiflingly hot. There were no soft cushions for the loungers by the pool nor on the outside chairs at the Skybar. The latter has wonderful views of the city.
Apart from the minor irritants above, little things like housekeeping coming to our room twice within 30 mins, despite the privacy sign being outside, the internet wire fitting loosely all contributed to the feeling that the hotel isn't weel managed when it comes to detail. Many of the neon letters on the top of the hotel were out too. Just little things which affect the overall picture.
However, having said all that, a hotel, I feel, is there to provide you with a good sleep in a good room. This it did perfectly well and, if I came to Danang again, I would undoubtedly stay here

The Hotel was very comfortable but the staff were so interested in their mobile phones rather than serving clients.
This was experienced in the dining room at breakfast and the top floor bar.
Never again !

Room Tip: Simple - dont stay.

Stayed one night on transfer so only experienced check in, sleep, breakfast & check out.

Upon checkin at 7pm the receptionist was sullen and pretty uninterested in us. We (family of 5) were pretty surprised to receive keys to two rooms on different floors. We received some mumbling explanation of big room only one per floor. It seems our travel agent had booked two deluxe river view rooms of which they only have one per floor. My wife was unimpressed and got a change to a room two down from one of the deluxe rooms. This was a standard double room smelling of cigarette smoke, but to preserve peace and being tired after flying we accepted and took it.

Rooms were ok, quite comfortable, although the TV's barely had any reception. Wallpaper was peeling We slept well. The elevators are too few, only 2 to serve made for long waits, especially during breakfast. Breakfast was ok although somewhat limited in choice compared tot he other hotels we'd stayed in during our holiday.

There was something about the atmosphere that gave me negative vibes. I can't place my foot on it but we didn't feel we want to stay here again. It's ok, but not worth $300/night for the family.

We stayed in a deluxe river view room. The room itself was good, facilities are ok (Gym is in reasonable condition but extremely hot). Breakfast was pathetic compared to all other hotels I stayed in in vietnam. They even ran out of noodles for Pho.

Overall I left feeling the hotel was maybe worth $60US per night, not the $85 that we paid. It seems to be very overpriced. Other reviews that are enthusiastic about the hotel probably have not travelled significantly in Vietnam. This was the worst value for money we had come across.

I would not stay there again or recommend this hotel. I would rather try one of the cheaper hotels that may be more simple but might offer better value.

My husband and I haven stayed at the Green Plaza. the room are perfectly nice and clean.: air conditioning. minibar, internet via cable. wood floors throughout, including the bathroom, nice views of Da Nang and the Han river. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Restaurants and supermarket can be reached by foot. The airport is about 10 minutes. The breakfast buffet is quite good, both Asian and European / American. The pool is medium sized and not very deep, but enough to cool it. The small gym is slightly depressing.

hotel is a solid 3 star only. despite what you may find quoted by the hotel.
Restaurant was always closed. maid service was appalling we had to ask for toilet roll at main desk as it was never replaced, and on check out they asked us to account for the whereabouts of the bath robes which the maid service had taken on the first night ad never returned, in the end i was forced to write a letter the head office in front of the hotel day manager stating we had not stolen them!

would never stay here again.

This hotel is absolute great, the staff are friendly and helpful, it's right across the street to the boardwalk where you can walk for miles looking at the river and the neat statues. At night the bridge is lit up with the most wonderful colors, it's absolutely fascinating. You are within walking distance to the market, the museum and restaurants. We couldn't have been more pleased with this hotel and we travel extensively around the world. Thank you staff at the Green Plaza hotel for making our visit especially nice.
