3 weeks into our South East Asian tour we had looked for somewhere that offered hotel on the beach relaxation not too much sightseeing and some r and r before tackling Siem Reap and all it's wonders.
Anantara Mui Ne seemed the answer and it definitely was the top end of our budget per night.
The resort itself is fine, quite busy for low season and we did have a lot of rain.
We had 2 villas (415 and 416) with private pool which was not very private as the lotus pond has people pottering around in traditional boats all day as well as staff wandering in and out. It was also the least space we have had and for a 3 night stay we didn't really have anywhere to unpack.
The beach bar and restaurant was good but small menu considering you don't really have much choice outside of the resort.
All in all although the resort is fine it is not really worth the 4 hour plus stressful car journey both ways to Saigon, quite high European prices and Mui Ne itself doesn't have much to offer being quite a sad purpose built Russian orientated stretch of Coast.
We much preferred the area around Hoi An, it had a lot more soul and I can only imagine there is a lot more the vast coast in Vietnam could offer.
