Very nice golf course designed by Nick Faldo.
The golf course goes around the Novotel Hotel and you enjoy a nice sea view from some of the holes. Especially the number 9, par 3 has a terrific view (and terrific wind in the afternoon).
About 15 years old, shows some problems on maintenance especially around fairways. Greens are top.
Try to play later in the afternoon, is more challenging because of the wind and the sun is not so hot.

The Ocean Dunes Golf Club. If you play golf, you'll enjoy this course, designed by Nick Faldo. It's a links-style course. In the morning, there isn't much wind, but then it picks up and in the afternoon it blows regularly at 25-30 knots, which is very challenging. My favorite holes are #7, #11, #13, #17 and #18. It's great to be on #18 at about 5:30pm as the sun is going down, the church bells are ringing, and night is drawing nigh. Shadows of the evening steal across the sky as you enjoy this par 5 final hole before going to the club house for a great frozen marguarita, a specialty of the Ocean Dunes Golf Club.

My sister and brother-in-law visited in 2007 and we spent a week at the Novotel Phan Thiet and played golf at the ODGC every day. Great fun.

Even in the so-called "rainy season," from June to October, you can play every day. It only rains in the late afternoon, the mornings and early afternoon are great, nice and sunny, and the thunderstorms are similar to those in coastal south Georgia (Brunswick, Sea Island, St Simons), or in north Florida (Jacksonville, Amelia Island, etc.). It's nice and sunny all day, and then you get a "cool-down" shower in the late afternoon.

Oh, and they also have free wireless internet access in the golf club house, as well as in the Novotel Phan Thiet rooms, restaurant, and lobby. They also have International cable TV (BBC, CNN, STAR TV, NHK, etc. etc.) in the golf club house and hotel rooms.

The Dalat Palace Golf Club is owned by the same group, and is a great course, also, but I prefer the Ocean Dunes Golf Club because (1) takes five hours or a bit more to drive to Dalat (three to four hours to Phan Thiet) and I'd rather drive than fly, (2) in Phan Thiet you can walk from the hotel to the golf course, but in Dalat they have vans/cars that take you from the hotels (Sofitel, Novotel) to the course, (3) Phan Thiet is a links-style course by the ocean, while Dalat is a mountain course.

This golf course was very well maintained and had beautiful views of the ocean while you were playing golf. We playyed nine holes for 45 dollars including the cart. Rental of the clubs was more but I can't remember how much. We should have playyed the eighteen holes but I thought it was going to be too hot. The food at the club house there is also very good. My husband have playyed in California at some of the beach course that are not as nice as this one. The carts and service were also excellent!
