“Oasis of quality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 March 2013

My wife and I are just checking out of Cham Villas after 3 nights at the end of an 18-day north-south tour of Vietnam. 5 hours' drive from HCMC may seem daunting but when you get to Cham Villas, the journeys are worth it.
We were fortunate to have a beach-front villa, which means you get a real benefit from the onshore breezes, as well as the fantastic view.
Service standards here are high, and friendly, from the reception through to the cleaners. Cham Villas is a high quality oasis, secluded and shut away from the main street with its largely Russian-orientated shops and restaurants.
The breakfast space is beautiful and doubles up as a quiet (strangely so) restaurant later in the day, with food of a good quality - as is the case with its co-owned German restaurant by the entrance to the Villas. Both serve bottled German beer.
The private beach area is kept spotless, as are the charming gardens and the secluded pool, although that gets baked in the sun, and the sea (also very warm) is more refreshing.
My wife also used the health spa, and in her view it's among the best - and good value.
All in all, it's highly recommended.

Room Tip: beach front a real benefit

we actually went there in february 2012 and it blew us away. we got a villa facing the ocean at a steal of $175 a night. the room was cozy, but with the french doors open to our front porch it opened the space amazingly. the bathroom, specifically the tub facing a blocked private gardened area, is tropical, romantic and unique. the breakfast (included) was delightful every morning, though we are early risers and need coffee ASAP. do yourself a favor and buy a vietnamese coffee maker across the street and make in the morning with a can of condensed milk. we found the surrounding area to disappoint for dinners, but the vietnamese dining in the hotel was very good. (we did find one other restaurant that was amazing, but went by the rule of thumb if there is a russian or german menu posted at front-- skip it.) the hotel staff are kind, accommodating and friendly. the pool is AMAZING. once we utilized it rather than the beach, we were in heaven. frankly, for us it gets way too windy to sit at the beach in the afternoon, but it is fabulous to watch the wind surfers. really fabulous. if you can score a great flight, coordinate travel from saigon, this is a total deal of a vacation. we simply loved it.

Room Tip: go for beach front villas. just do it.

My wife and I finished our tour of Vietnam by relaxing for 10 days at the Cham Villas. What a great choice that was! The villas and gardens were lovely. We chose a sea view which was perfect. We are both foodies and loved the food served within the complex. The staff were so friendly and helpful. When the wind got up at midday allowing the kite surfers to 'get some air', we retreated from the beach (where staff would religiously siv and smooth the sand early every morning!!) and spent the afternoon around the sheltered pool. Fabulous! Although the villas were fully occupied there were always plenty of sunbeds available. Rooms were cleaned daily and beds turned down each evening. Two large towels each every day to use on the beach or around the pool.
Yes there are plenty of Russian holidaymakers here......viva la difference!! The resort itself is essentially one road. Plenty of restaurants, shops and massage places. If you turn right out of the cham villas and keep walking (or get a taxi for a few minutes) then you will reach some of the freshest seafood eateries you will ever find. Everything still alive and waiting to be chosen, and the odd crocodile on a spit over the bbq (guess what....it tastes like chewey chicken!). I had 10 scallops cooked in ginger and spring onions on the grill for around 75 pence!! A delicious starter!
We found the people of Vietnam were the treasures of our visit as opposed to the toursist sites which generally were average...once you've seen one pagoda....you've seen em all!
So glad we chose the Cham Villas for this destination. It made what would have been an average location into a fantastic stay.

We had booked a garden villa for 2 nights and on arrival they offered to upgrade us to a beachfront villa for only $15 a night extra (half the normal price difference). We agreed and were not disappointed.

All the villas are separate from each other to allow maximum privacy. Ours had a very comfortable four poster bed with mosquito net surounding it which was put down each night by the staff. The room had an outside area with 2 comfy chairs and a day bed. The bathroom had a bath with a large window looking out onto a lit up sculpted wall decoration which was fun and unique.

The beach was a few short steps away with lovely clean sand. The sea was quite choppy and windy hence all the kite surfers. There was also a lovely green coloured pool secluded amongst palm trees.

Breakfast was such a treat and there was so much to choose from including juicers, fruit, cereal, meats, cheeses, pastries, pho, cooked items and even a cooking station where they would make fresh omlettes, eggs, pancakes etc. It was all delicious.

Whilst there was also ate one night at the restaurant and the food was very well cooked and presented. We also had massages at the in house spa which was in a lovely area of the resort with well trained and friendly staff.

The place was superb and we loved every minute and wished we could have stayed longer.

Room Tip: Go for a beachfront villa

A very joyful stay - its like paradise - very quet and relaxing place. I highly recommend.
Great service - great food and lovely cocktails.

We returned once again to Cham Villas which is indeed an oasis in what is now a very popular resort and especially popular with Russian visitors.
We rarely ventured on to the main street in the resort, primarily because there was no need and also as all the shop signs are now in Russian we had little understanding of what they were offering.
Don't let that put you off. If you want all the details of Cham Villas please see my last report. Nothing has really changed but as I have said before, why change a winning formula.
The attraction for us is to sit on the beach loungers and watch the kite surfers, the beach vendors, and everything else that goes on.
The area is renown for kite surfing therefore it is very breezy but in truth it keeps you cool even on the hottest of days. The downside is that occasionally the winds do pick up and whip up the sand but more often than not it is just very pleasant. If it becomes too windy just adjourn to the lovely pool.
Go for a beach front villa it is worth the extra.

I can't say enough good things about Cham Villas. The driver was waiting for us, and did an admirable job of navigating the constantly intense traffic from Ho Ch Minh airport to the hotel. He couldn't speak much English but he was all smiles and cheerful, though the drive was almost five hours. The hotel staff were wonderful, all speaking very understandable English, and the beachfront villa was paradise, Literally steps from the beach, the spacious and well-appointed room was spotless and perfectly maintained throughout our stay. The beach was never crowded, and watching the kitesurfers was entertaining! The breakfast buffet was excellent and the hotel is just steps away from convenience stores and restaurants. This stay would have cost us three times as much (at least) anywhere else, and my only complaint is that we couldn't stay longer. We will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Go for the beachfront villa. And also use the hotel driver, you'll save yourself a lot of stress...
