This small resort has place for only few guests, which makes it favorable for those who want a quiet and relaxed stay.
The set-up is really outstanding compared to the places neighboring the sunsea resort. Large coconut palms are allover the garden and the related part of the beach, giving shade and adding to a real tropical and luxurious feeling.
We stayed in one of the appartments, which are lined up facing a very nice pool, with a private terrace. The huts were under reconstruction during our stay, what makes it altogether a little difficult to judge the resort after it will be finished. So, if you plan your stay, ask if the construction works have been finished.
However, we experienced a very helpful and attentive service, who made every effort to overcome the difficulties due to the construction site. Before we arrived, we were informed about the construction activities and were offered to move to another resort, if we would have wanted to. Breakfast was served every morning on our terrace and was very tasteful and full of variety to chose from.

We are sure, that the sunsea resort is one of the most beautiful and loveliest places in Mui Ne and will be even nicer after its reconstruction.
We would definitely go there again and highly recommend it to everyone!

We booked this hotel for 7 nights but left after 1 night due to 70% of the place being under construction. We were 'conveniently' told via email about the construction work 1 day before we arrived which made it too late to book another place.

We were told the ambience would not be destroyed. But this is not true as we heard hammering at 7am and there were dust every where. We felt uncomfortable walking aroung also in our swimwear with the construction workers nearby.

All in all it has a promise of being a very good resort once they fully finish with their building. The pool view we had was very nice and clean. Best bathroom I've seen so far in the places I've stayed in Vietnam. The breakfast was awesome. We were given a 10% discount due the construction work and leftover refund of the deposit in VND I pay via Paypal in USD. This is another thing credit card details are not welcomed for bookings. The hotels all want a deposit via bank transfer or Paypal.

I would recommend to make it a standard question in enquiring about any construction work currently being done when booking hotels. It has ruined 3 days now into my holidays which is not long to start with. Running around and looking for other hotels is quite a hassle and not very relaxing.

We had trouble finding a review before we stayed so we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. This is a family friendly resort! Our family had two rooms that overlooked a magnificent pool. The resort only has about 12 bungalows (6 of which are rooms which overlook the pool) and caters for families and couples, no one bothered anyone, all kids having a great time and it was quiet at night. The grounds are immaculate with gardeners handpicking dead blades of grass from the surrounds!
On the great side of the stay small details like mosquito coils and matches (not that there were any mozzies), fresh flowers and chocolates on the pillow each night, the restaurant is THE best in Mui Ne, breakfast is superb as is the service, the grounds are immaculate, the beach directly in front of the resort is perfect. The chess, backgammon and other board games in the restaurant were a welcome way to waste the lazy days away, and then there are books to borrow for the literary lover. Laundry prices are cheap – great for washing every item in the suitcase! Did I mention the food - it was outstanding. It is also a fantastic place to watch the guys and girls kite surfing from the beach directly in front of the hotel. This is an adventure sport with all the action on the waves right in front of the resort restaurant.
On the down side linen was old and a couple of times we had towels that were ripped and had holes in them. Hotel toiletries were not replenished daily and the whole bathroom left a bit to be desired in terms of cleanliness and smell. The smell I think came from the rice grass they used on the roof for construction and had been wet and not dried and the smell was very strong in the bathroom. Also the fridge badly needed defrosting – a little smelly and could have been cleaner. The phones do not dial outside the hotel so take your mobile with international roving and at the time we visited there was no internet access and did not look like being fixed anytime soon. The reception guys were very accommodating letting us borrow their personal laptops and there is internet access for 10000VND per hour about 80metres from the hotel.
Mui Ne is quiet. In general Mui Ne was just as shrouded in rubbish and excrement as the rest of the country and the beach is certainly not like the pristine stretches of sand in Australia. All sorts of things were washed up on the sand. There is a large Russian contingent in Mui Ne and many bring their families so a lot of restaurants have menus in Russian, English and Vietnamese. The calm morning waters are great for a swim and small body surf and the afternoon kite surfing action makes the beach a welcome change from the pace and noise in Saigon. It is also a great place to see traditional coracle fishing boats and net fishing by the locals.
Overall – if you don’t holiday in the bathroom and can overlook any minor issues, Sunsea Resort is a great place for families who want quiet and love great food. We would go back again and bring our own internet access next time – but we probably won’t use it because we’ll be eating and lazing on the beach checking out the action

Rooms along the pool were nice. Property is well kept. Friendly staff. Nice beach front. No noise (we were also there during off-season). Downside was wi-fi, with no signal reaching our room.

In general, Mui Ne is more a couples place (little/no party), fantastic cheap food though, cheap massages, and good for kite-surfing (if you're able to get past the large waves).
