“Good value, Good facilities - Shame about the mosquitoes”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

We stayed here for about a week. Just outside the town in a quiet location but local shops are walkable as it the nearest supermarket. Good cooking facilities for the self caterers, a small pool and nice chill out area. Make sure you label all your food or lock it up as some of ours vanished from the fridge - and we were the only ones staying there. Unfortunately someone took a fancy to some of my clothes on the washing line - staff or other guests who knows - so keep any eye on your stuff. The big drawback for me was the hundreds of mosquitoes in the toilets and showers we got through at least 3 cans of bug spray whilst we were there. Since Zambia is malarial it would be nice if the management could fork out and spray the abdulations in the morning and evening.

Great place and great value.
There are many nice places to stay in Livingstone, but if you are looking for a quiet place to sleep This is definitive it..
It is also clean and a bit outside of the noisy streets.

Great hostel to stay at with free pick up from the airport, free ride to the falls/ border everyday at 11 o'clock and only 5 USD to be taken to the airport on departure. Staff were very friendly and helped me book and organise everything I wanted to do. Would also phone taxi's if you needed. It is very quiet sometimes which I liked as some of the other hostels i went to for drinks would have been too loud if you were needing to get up early the next day. Good location and only a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Main Street. Overall a very good place to stay and value for money!

(+) Good infrastructure and great value on activities proposed (safaris, vicfalls etc.)
(-) The staff is rather slow as many backpackers require detailed advises

Rooms were average (but cheap), the location of the camp is ok (not gret), the main backpack is more central (but very noisy). Lots of students (American & Irish) getting drunk every night and behaving like they own the Jollyboy camps, we got a bit annoyed by their behaviours.

Great place to stay. Campfire every evening. Friendly staff.
They were very helpful in organising all our trips and activities.
Good food - Recommend the breakfast Sundae.
Nice atmoshpere.

You can purchase wifi by 15/30mins/1hour. They also have computers.
There is a laundry sink.

Free walking tour of Livingstone every Weds at 10am, and free bus to the falls every day if you sign up the day before.

Room Tip: A little cold at night - we borrowed an extra blanket & was fine.

It´s a bit of a walk from the center but we walked all the time. We had one room with bathroom, which was very nice, and one room with shared facilities. That room was very small but OK. Both had mosquito nets. Food is served and it taste fine and the price is OK. People swam in the pool but it didn't look too clean. Facilities are good with wifi and a computer available, souvenir shop with postcards, book exchange, pool table, bar, kitchen and no one complains if you wash your clothes. We used their free pickup from the border and there´s free transport to the Victoria Falls.

We camped at Jollyboys Camp for 4 nights, discovering Livingstone and surroundings that period (Falls, walking safari). Location is good, bit more out of the centre than the other Jollyboys but still good. We did everything by foot, also at night (bring a torch). The staff is friendly and more than willing to help, showers a bit cold sometimes, overall fine for the price they offer. If you're coming for a party: better stay at the other Jollyboys in town, this one is more for families and people who like to have a relaxed stay.
