We spent a night at the River Club as the first stop in our honeymoon and I have to say what a way to start! From the moment we were picked up at the airport by Gilbert we felt like it was going to be a fantastic experience. Gilbert was very welcoming and knowledgeable and we were lucky to even see some wildlife in our way to the river club. The owner, Peter, received us in the riverside and took us in a boat to a little island in the middle of the Zambezi river where we had a fantastic welcoming lunch and champagne, beauty in the details I have to say : ) We were awed by the whole experience, the treatment by the staff at the river club and of course the stunning beauty of the place where the lodge is located. Peter and Sue were super kind to us and upgraded us to the Mary Suite which was more than we could ever ask for. The suite or more appropriate, the villa, is beautifully decorated with its own pool and again fantastic views of the Zambezi river. The romantic dinner with the candlelight near the infinity pool was fantastic. What can I say, overall an amazing stay, with wonderful people and great service. We hope to be back soon and were sad to have only one night in this beautiful place.
