“Relaxing stay”

My girlfriend and I visited and had a really enjoyable stay, we are not fussy but like to be comfortable and found Maramba was all that and more!

It is very well situated, over looking the marimba river. The lodge has a warm and relaxing feel. The team were very friendly and extremely helpful, Thank you to you all.
Food was great, with good service. It is affordable and great quality

We were really happy with our stay and would visit again, will recommend to anyone!

We recently hosted our wedding reception at Maramba River Lodge. It was for a small party of 25 people.

From start to finish, Ruth and Brad were absolutely amazing..They met with us as often as needed to finalise details. They were personable, taking care not only of the wedding details but of us as a couple as well. Nothing was too much for them.

The facilities were excellent, the attention to detail was outstanding. The food was excellent and the staff were friendly. The location was perfect. We wish we could relive the experience. We had rave reviews from our family and friends who had travelled from Australia, Scotland, South Africa, Namibia and Zambia. An amazing experience.

Maramba River Lodge is great value for money and well worth a visit. We would recommend it in a heart beat.

The lodge is located in beautiful place with view of Maramba river. We stayed in April, 2013, in a Luxury Tent. The tent was old and far from luxurious. The food at the restaurant was nice, the staff was excellent. In the end we were very pleased we chose Maramba River Lodge, but maybe Luxury tent is not worth 200$.

A lovely Lodge located in a perfect place.Right in the Mosi o tunya National park overlooking Maramba river. The General manager Mr.Brad and his extremely helpful team made my stay enjoyable.Very confortable bed, well stocked bar and a nice restaurant with indoor and outdoor dinning. While having my drink by the bar or restaurant I could see the Hippos playing around in the Maramba river. The Vic falls,Mukuni big five and the Reptile park which are some of must visit places are just few minutes drive from the Lodge.Business or leisure,Maramba river Lodge is suitale.Try it!

We stayed in October, 2012, in a Safari Tent. It was well appointed and comfortable. It felt like what I imagined Africa to be... but with all the comforts of home. Quite nice! The restaurant was great. Well, the food was great. The service slow, but then, we didn't really have anywhere to be. Our first evening there, a family of babboons stopped by for dinner. We had fun watching them find their dinner and eat. The 2nd night, we heard a person running around... a little nerve wracking. But when he came close, we asked what was going on... the response "ELEPHANT, 5 METRES!" Late at night, but we could make out the elephant.. wandering around eating. What a sight.

We took our time choosing somewhere to stay in Livingstone, Zambia. Many places in our price bracket have been given awful reviews - and those that haven't looked like standard international hotels. In the end we were very pleased we chose Maramba River Lodge. It was comfortable, very friendly and really put us closer to the natural world we had come to see.
We stayed in one of Maramba's chalets and found it very comfortable and clean. Some other reviewers have said extraordinary things like "there wasn't even any glass in the windows" - No - It's Africa and there are fly-screens! - All the better to hear the wonderful noises of the night & the dawn chorus.
The riverside bar and restaurant were wonderful locations - To be able to sit and enjoy a drink with the distant spray from the Victoria Falls on the near horizon as the sun went down was wonderful. (We were told that had we been at Maramba during the season when the river was not so overgrown we might have seen elephants in the water - As it was we were treated to the sight of a young crocodile - and lots of spectacular birdlife).
The food available was not absolute "top of the range" but it was well-cooked and varied. We particularly enjoyed the curries.
If you want a more authentic experience than you could get staying in characterless hotel but afford £500 a night luxury lodges then Maramba River Lodge is a great choice.

In connection with the review below “Room Break In”. I happened to be at Maramba River Lodge at the same time and from what I remember and experienced the Manager was there and on hand all times.
He organised the Police and the Security officers, they searched all the area and a man was apprehended, no matter what security measures are taken perpetrators will always find a away through they even manage to get in to Buckingham Palace, The Manager was very sympathetic towards the distraught lady and he even upgraded her to the better chalets (I believe with no extra cost).
Bad reviews are always remembered, but I can only praise the Manager and his staff. During our stay we had excellent service from not only the management but also the staff, and at no time did we feel as though the security and our welfare was nothing, but at the top of their agenda of all at Maramba, I would recommend this superb lodge to all my family and friends. I look forward to my return trip in August

Doug Wragg

Room Tip: I have only stayed at the Chalets and they are really comfortable and lots of space.
