Description: Bonne Journee is a family owned, steakhouse/Diner styled restaurant. Our dining is very casual with no frills and no fuss just good honest food cooked fresh from order. We have been running for over 60years. Fully licenced with full bar. We are open every day of the week from early till late serving Breakfast, lunch, Dinner and anything between. Its the place where good friends meet for good food at good prices - its all good!!

Recommended by friends when visiting Bulawayo, was not disappointed. Extensive menu with good choice of meals at very reasonable prices. Food was plentiful and good and service was excellent. Went a couple of times and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. Staff were polite and friendly, nothing to criticise at all.

Poor food, poor service in a 'cold' enviroment (tho plenty of parking). All but 1 item on the seafood platter was both cold and overcooked, except the chips which were undercooked (and were simply put back in the oil to cook further, not replaced, when sent back so were still inedible). Only saving grace was the young manager on duty who did his best to fix things - including clearing the table as this wasn't done. Choc mousse dessert was nice but a little dry around the edges. Sweet white wine advertised but unavailable as were 2 other desserts. Worst meal I've had in quite a while!

Thank Ro H

When you walk in you are welcomed by the friendly staff into the very retro styled restaurant. With wooden model ships perched behind the bar and many countries flags hanging from the wall and the 80's feel seating you think you have gone back in time. Then you sit down and go through their huge menu you are spoilt for choice right across the board except for seafood which is limited to about two dishes.
If you are into steak this is the place for you. Sirloin, T-bone, fillet is all available in its various guises. Being a seafood lover myself I ordered the hake fillet with chips and French salad. It was sublime and the portion was very substantial. I had the gateaux which was excellent too. All in all it was a good night out.

Comparing to all the take aways around this seems to be graet place even though serves nothing specia. Still the food is good and various. You can choose between different size of portions and addings (like bread/pita/toast/tortilla etc). Breakfast menu is nice.
Cafe is good and real (not instant).
Service is nice and qick.
The whole place has a style of old european caffe and it's nice.

Meals are a good size and well priced. Service is always good, even with a large group. Don't expect 5 star, but for a cheap meal and a night off from cooking you won't be disappointed.
