We stayed here during our trip to Niagara. All the hotels near Niagara were expensive and this place was just 20 mins from Niagara, so decided to stay here. We were worried how the hotel would be and we were taken by surprise. The hotel was really wonderful and spacious and very clean. This hotel is much better than the 3.5 star hotels you get in Manhattan. There was even a proper kitchen and dining table for 4 within the room. I wish I had pics to show you how nice the hotel was. The hotel also had a fitness centre and a laundry room.

Just had one bad incident - we heard some loud thumping noise on top of our room in the middle of the night and the front desk receptionist knocked our door at 3 am as someone in the floor below us had complained about it. I wish they called us to inquire instead of coming to the room. Even in the morning to find out if we are checking out, they knock on the door and inquire.

Well i was looking for labor day getaways. I was traveling w/ my wife and my parents to Niagara. Found this NON Smoking Hotel about 20-25 min drive from Niagara which already had good reviews for $93/night ( expensive because of long weekend).

I checked in late and was smoothly checked in into our rooms. I just crashed. The room was very clean and had all amenities (microwave, fridge, TV, coffee). Wifi connectivity was good too from room.
Bathroom was clean..which sometimes can be annoying if not.

Hotel is near to lot of restaurants like Dennys , Olive garden and fast food joints like Taco bell, McDonald so that was good.
They had a gym and free laundry which was good too.
Hotel had a computer and a printer in the lobby room for people to surf and take printouts..nice of them to have it. ..no charge for that...

Check out was smooth too and we were out the next day. In all it had all the amenities that a general traveler would like ....i liked it.
Had it been some other weekend, it would have been cheaper.

Definitely worth to Stay !!

We chose this place because it has a kitchen facilty (full size fridge, stove top and Microwave). Its brand new and clean. Very nice, helpful staff. Elevator broke which made checking out a chore but no worries.
It is a 40 minute ride to Niagra Falls.
Nothing to complain about at all.

On the evening of 13 August, Thursday; we attended a concert at the UB Center for the Arts and didn't want to drive back to Rochester at midnight. You may know that Candlewoods are designed as extended stay hotels, so that they have kitchenettes. We had a rate of $102.00 (sans tax), which, in the weeks before UB begins, was only a few dollars more than the Red Roof next door with its exterior corridors, so it seemed an excellent value. We stayed in Room 409.

The hotel is very new, and everything is is good condition. The trappings aren't really super high quality, but they are certainly attractive and serviceable. They are better than what you find in an Extended Stay America.

The desk staff was very friendly and helpful both during check-in and check-out. I am a Priority Club member: I received a bag with packet of microwave popcorn, a bottle of water, and a coupon for a free can of soda. The soda was available in their little "convenience store" that offers 50-cent sodas and $1 bowls of cereal. It has some sort of "honor payment" system (as opposed to a draconian mini-bar), and you need to key in to the room with your room key.

We called down to the desk twice: first, to get the password for the free wireless internet and received it ASAP. We also had to call down to clarify the check out time (11AM) which is listed as 11AM on the door and 12 noon in the Guest Binder in the room.

The TV has decent cable--with HBO--and is a large flat screen. We didn't use the kitchen, but the coffee maker was fine.

The bathroom was also new, clean, and with a good sense of space: plenty of hot water and water pressure.

I found the queen bed comfortable, but my wife did not: she thought it too soft, sagging in the middle. The bedding suggested a rather luxurious sleep.

The hotel seems a bit noisy: and we had a a calm night and a good crowd. The walls are thin and they amplify people walking about the halls, talking, and watching TV. I could see that a different UB-related experience, a team or a busy conference, would lead to a lot of problematic noise. But this is more of a warning concerning a problem often documented in the Amherst hotel-motels here on Flint and down the road.

We stayed two nights at this suite hotel in July 09. The place was brand new. Our room was not a suite, more a room with a kitckenette, including full size fridge, stove top, microwave, sink, coffee pot, dishes, pots and pans, and full size dishwasher. The bathroom was nice, but a little small and the blowdryer could not be removed from the wall. There was a large desk and chair in the room, great if you are traveling on business and need to get some work done. This was an extended stay hotel, so towels had to be exchanged daily at the front desk, which was no problem. Rooms were not cleaned each day - again because it was an extended stay motel .The mattresses in our room were the best pillowtop - you will definitely sleep well. That ,the walls were kinda thin, we could hear children running above us. No free breakfast- but downstairs was a honor pantry where you filled out a slip of paper with your room number for whatever items you took. Soda was 50 cents to $1.00. We used it and the charges were correct. There was a beautiful grill and gazebo for guest to use. It was a little pricey, but it was brand new, so we would stay there again if the price was right.

Nice and clean. Very reasonable price for a suite room. We stayed overnight for a trip to Niagara falls. Drive to the falls is easy. Nice restaurants around the hotel.

Only issue was with the height of the bed. It was unusually high for hotel beds and was very inconvenient to get onto. The mattresses was 12" thick and i think on a platform frame. They need to decrease the height of the bed because for people who are around 5 ' 6" it takes a great effort to get onto the bed and u wish they even provided a step stool. It is a good bed to sleep on.

Since the basic need for any hotel is to provide a convenient bed and this hotel did not give me that, I am giving it a 3 on 5. Otherwise its a 4 1/2.

My husband and I stayed there after deciding to take an improtu trip for a few days. We checked out the prices of a few hotels in the area and it came down between Candlewood and another hotel. I immediately got a much better "feeling" from candlewood, even though the two hotels were in the same area and only $10 difference in price of rooms/night. We were told the hotel had opened just 9 days ago. The staff were very friendly, the rooms were amazing, and wonderfully designed. We stayed at a higher end hotel about a year ago, which was nearly double the nightly room price (we stayed on points) and the room there wasn't nearly as nice and modern as at the candlewood. We definitely be staying there again and everytime we go to buffalo. If only they had a pool, that's the only thing I can say that is remotely negative.
