Every time I fly into Buffalo, New York I must, must stop at Anderson's for a Beef on Weck followed by a Lemon Ice. It has become a tradition with our daughter whose Dad is a native of the Kenmore area.

We love the friendly hometown vibe, the cleanliness of the place (no matter which location), and more than anything the consistently GREAT quality of roll and roast beef for the sandwich.

Our daughter loves their ice cream while we stick to the lemon ice.

Upstate NY tradition of custard ice cream and Beef on Weck. Never tried it? Come here, very casual, family oriented old fashion ice cream place. It has a variety of food options but can never go wrong with the traditional beef on weck(Roast Beef sandwich on a rye/salt roll). One of our favorite stops in Buffalo.

No one…anywhere compares to their black raspberry custard. Others are fine, but this is their best…not too sweet, but tasty, smooth and hits the spot. Always a first stop when visiting the area.

During a recent visit my wife ordered the roast beef on kimmelweck and I ordered a chicken finger basket. The order was prepared quickly and came to us hot and ready to eat. The roast beef sandwich, while not one of the larges in the area, was very good and the all important kimmelweck roll was nice and fresh. The chicken fingers came out hot with a nice, light breading. And, the fries were also perfectly prepared. Everything was good or better than expected except the bbq sauce that came with the chicken fingers. The sauce was a little thin and bland for my tastes. I would have liked something a little thicker with more personality.

this particular Anderson's just doesn't seem to have its mojo going, with indifferent service and sandwiches we'd expect at a place of lesser pretentions... funny how this spreading out of the Anderson's brand has resulted in a general dilution of the product... but the Sheridan Drive "original" still seems to set the standard...
