10 km south of Aqaba, 4 - 5 JOD in a taxi, 1 km north of the horrible Tala Bay. 100 m from the sandy and empty public beach. Neighbour to two other "village/bungalow hotels" but by far the most charming one. In the middle of nothing but sand!
Sort of a back-packer hotel, a bit over the hill, very relaxed. We had a large, clean and cool room. With A/C, a new TV and hot water.
The staff is of another world! We just love them all. Ahmed, the Egyptian waiter who hadn't been back home for 6 years, Ronny the caretaker with his funny hat, saying "actually" all the time, the grumpy chain-smoking old bar man (in fact he is very charming and talkative), the charming Canadian lady working on ther home page. They all did the their utmost to make us feel at home.
The food is very good, the breakfast quite OK. The bear cold, the wine tasty. For some reason we did not pay for all of it!
The sea, snorkeling/diving almost as good as at Dahab on Sinai.
It is a very quiet place. For some reason we were almost the only guests. Very quiet in Aqaba as well: The problems in Syria??
Read the review of Jason S! We agree 100%
We only left because we had a plane to catch!
Married Danish couple aged 66 and 67.

Room Tip: The ones to the left of the pool, up against the cliff, below the campsite. They are cool.

This place seems a little odd at first. It's not much to look at and the rooms are small and very budgety. The pool area and upstairs viewpoint all seem to have a "collection of leftovers" feel and the staff odd and quirky. And yet we ended up spending more time there than we expected, because the place felt so welcoming. The staff went out of their way to make you feel at home. It started with one of the guys who ran out into the road at night to try and flag us down when we couldn't find the place, there was Ronny the reception guy who was always smiling, well dressed and always checking to make sure you were happy. And then there was the crusty old bar man who seemed angry and mean but turned out to be super sweet and insisted we leave with a breakfast to go when we checked out early (going so far as to order the cook to make us one and hugging us when we left).

The restaurant at the hotel is pretty good, decently priced and serves beer and wine. At night, the guests all gather there and hang out with the staff and the Bedouin's who are either at the beach to chill out or to pick up tourists for tours. One night a local band played while shishas were spread around, another night it was one guests birthday and the hotel made a tray of deserts for everyone to celebrate.

So don't be turned off at first glance or by the reviews, the rooms were comfortable, the pool a welcome respite from the rocky and windy Red Sea and the staff friendly and welcoming. It's a place we, and many of the guests, ended up staying at for much longer than we expected.

We paid for our full holiday with booking company and were stuck there. The pool was closed because the back wall of the hotel fell down (receptionist - overt gay, told us when he showed us other rooms that the place was built with no steel strength in the walls and it caved into the pool deck and it was lucky no person was killed when it colaps
we book in advanced but get draged through other rooms trying us to pay more. we payed enough, cant aford more, but pushing other places anyway.
crowdes of workers pulling down bricks and building noise and dirt. we would want to leave but had given credit card and they say take money fo cancelation.
the people there not interested in working, we ask for morning brekfast and wait for always same thing. room was not clean until we keep asking and toilet break and water on floor. other food is oily and served cool, not hot, and workers smoke in kitchen too. and radios running lots of times.
beach is near from hostel but dirty and got broken glass and plastic and rubish around. snorkling is fine but always dirty and plastic bags and tins on beach.
Local town is far away.

Room Tip: go to hotel on othe side of road ... Bedouin Garden hotel

The hotel is a 5 min walk from the beach, all the staff people are very kind and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable, the swimming pool and installation very nice. I will definitely go back. We loved the atmosphere.

I was actually staying next door at Bedouin Garden Village, which was listed in Lonely Planet. I came over to Bedouin Moon Village because their poolside lounge/bar has beer (hard to find in Jordan), and I was really impressed by how super-friendly the bartender and the front-desk manager were. I spent a lot of time there over a few days, and also rented snorkel gear from the dive shop. Bedouin Moon Village just seemed nicer and more social than Garden Village, and I wish I had stayed at Moon instead.
BMV is right next to the beach, so you can walk in and start snorkelling right away. However, the area is very isolated (no shops/restaurants other than the 3 hotels' there; JD5-10/10-15 minute taxi into Aqaba).

We booked the hotel on booking.com. When we got there the pool was closed and there was renovation work (angle grinders, drilling, builders radio) in the pool area, so we could not use it to relax. We were not told about this when we booked even though the manager kept saying he told us when we checked in, at this point we would have lost 50% deposit.

After checking in after a long days drive, before we could have our room key we had to be dragged round the hotel to see "the good rooms" before being put into a diffent one.

The room was ok had a bed and was clean, all though the wet room did not slope towards the drain, so the entire bathroom floor was a puddle the whole time. Also was a bit cold and when we asked for extra blankets the staff seemed annoyed that the guests were btohering them and had to go into other rooms to find some, so what would happen if they were full. We were told renovation will be done to these rooms soon.

My wife felt very uncomfortable around the staff. At one point we were laughing and joking with another couple after they were dragged off for a tour in the middle of their meal and one comes over and asks me, "why is your wife laughing, we try hard."

The location is good however despite being 12km from aqaba this is a good thing as it right on the reef and excellent beach. Away from the bustle of town.

All in all it reminded me of a jordanian Fawlty Towers.
