“Not fancy, not bad”

It's actually a good hotel if you're low on cash, but it isn't that much of a fancy hotel. Wifi only works in the reception. The pool was pretty clean. In my room, the flush of the toilet wasn't working, but i managed to fix it for them!
Overall it's good when you're low on cash and in need for a vacation, and it just does that.

This hotel has very mixed reviews but I spent three nights there and thought it fine. I was with a party of eight; two people sharing had a very poor room as reviews describe here, but asked to change it and did so without problems. The rest of us were happy with our spacious and clean rooms: it isn't fancy but it's absolutely fine. We think because many Jordanians come here to shop there are some v basic rooms. If you're not happy with a room, ask to be moved.

Food was excellent; two nights up on the roof with a lot of locals and music, very good fun; last night in basement next to swimming pool, again very good food and excellent breakfast. Staff are a delight- they organised a birthday cake for one of group very happily and presented her with gifts as well. You can organise boat trips and diving from reception. Wifi in reception v good- a bit mixed elsewhere: some in our party could get it in their rooms, others couldn't.

It's a basic and decent hotel.

The door of my room was broken by some thievs in the past, the bed linen were clearly used, and the shower wasn't working.
Not aligned to his category and not actually that good.
The position is nice, in the touristic area and not far from the sea.

This hotel is filthy once you get past reception and enter into the lifts. It just goes downhill from there! The carpets in the hallways are not just manky from years of use, I don't think they ever saw a hoover. When I got to my room, I was surprised about the good quality of the towels, but disgusted that the second pillow case hadn't been changed. The room furniture has really had it's day. The windows from the outside were filthy enough, but no excuse about how dirty they were from the inside. The only thing left to check was the bathroom. Utterly disgusting! Ancient! And in need of a deep clean around the shower. No excuse that the small bathroom bit was filthy as was the (cream?) colour bathroom door.

In contrast the upper deck of the hotel is a wonderful place to eat and the food quality was both excellent and plentiful (a buffet). The staff were very nice also.

Contrast that again when you go to use the swimming pool. I didn't. Tiles missing all over the inside of the pool. The seating area was manky dirty - both the seats and the covers. Really hadn't been washed in years never mind disinfected. No way!

Room Tip: It's mighty busy on the main street to the front, so ask for a quiet room round the back or at l...

Efficient check in, free wi fi, decent restaurant though the breakfasts are a bit basic. Bit noisy even 7 floors up as Aqaba is an evening city so ear plugs are a must if you are a light sleeper .
Rooms are spacious and well maintained, centrally located.

Our travel agent relied on a local agent to arrange a two day stay in Jordan so we could see Wadi um and Petra. After day one we were dropped off at the "very nice" Mina Hotel. I had better accomodations in my college dorm 50 years ago!. When the signover the toilet says "do not flus paper" and there is a can with a lid to dispose of the remants it is time to move on. The room was small and overlloked a dirt lot with a trailer disposed of my the adjoining Doubletree Inn. The breakfast included in the deal was served in the basement. I picked at a piece of bread and some cheese. My wife unfortunately had some granola and yoghurt which resulted in a mild case of food poisoning at 3:30 AM the following day. Good news...there is free-wifi and the one station in English has World Wide wrestling.

Room Tip: Try the Doubletree if you want to stay in Aqaba. There are a few nice restaurants. Or go to the Marr...

The room was big enough, with two (separate) beds, a table, desk, a large cupboard and two chairs. A couple of things could be better... the bathroom was a cave with only one small light working and a loose towel rack. One day we received no new towels, and had to wait for over two hours after calling for it a second time. The breakfast is nice, but the later you go the more crowded it is and some things will not be available (coffee, plates, spoons, bread etc.). At times we had no warm water, when too many people were using the shower. The internet connection was often very weak. And if you are a light sleeper, you will need to get used to a 5 o clock wake -up call every day: the call for the the first morning prayer from the mosque!

Room Tip: A view on the mosque is nice, but you will probably sleep better without it..
