I went on a local snorkeling trip with the Barracuda Diving Club on their Blue Wave boat. Had a great time! The staff was very nice, friendly, and helpful. Good lunch too! Definitely go snorkeling with them!

I stayed and dove here for 5 days at the start of May. The room rates are very good, $40 a night and the hotel/facility is very clean. You should book at least two weeks ahead of time because people from Amman come for the weekends (Arab weekend Thur-Sat). Hotel is away from the city or anyother populated area making it actually nice. Beach is just a stone throw away from the hotel (take shoes if you swim, this is not your typical sand beach). Room 309 has the best view and I really believe the balcony is larger than the room!!! There is a small short order resturant on ground level, they have basics like hamburgers, chicken sandwitches, hummas, shwarmas BUT I would rather eat at McDonallds than here, its not exactly part of the Barracuda and seems very unused. I ate it anyways because I didnt have time to run into the city everyday. The Barracuda has a light breakfast every morning (sliced veggies, boiled eggs, hummas, breads, coffee, cereal, cheese, etc.... I didnt mind having it for a good fresh starter of the day.

The dive center was very neat and clean, they have a great compressor and thier gear seems to be well maintained. Dive prices are CHEAP! All dives are from the shore which is just fine. From the shore you can dive down to 100+ feet in no time at all. The coral and reef life are like no others, take your camera because you will see a good display of creatures (Morays, Nudibranch, Puffer, Stone, Scorpion, Trigger, Lion and many more) The dive staff was great. Ask to dive with Eva or Ahlaa, they are really good guides and also friends. With Eva I dove for 64 minutes and still had air!

Travel from the airport to Barracuda is easy, just tell the driver Barracuda! I paid 20JD for the ride and never even tried to settle on a lower price. Price of a taxi from the center to the city is only 5JD one way and 5JD back to the center. The center is open to drinking on its property, I had drinks everynight next to the pool with the staff and a few other divers. Be sure to buy your alcohol at the airport or in the city because Barracuda doesnt sell niether does the little store in front of the center.

A nice walk along the beach is recommended, I hung out with several families who were smoking shisha and doing some BBQ, they were all freindly and were open to pictures if you ask.

I say go to Aqaba and dive with Barracuda, it is well worth it!
