Our Japanese colleague took us here for Nagoya style chicken wings. They were indeed about the best wings I've ever had ... and I've had a lot in my time. The most surprising thing was a strong Korean influence in the menu with a fair bit more than the requisite kimchee. My friend said that indeed Mr. Yama had some family connection to Korea but I can't confirm this. Overall food was very tasty and with three men fully stuffed by end of the meal with a modest amount of drinks came to Y8000. Note that this is a chain but I am told that the outlets are consistently decent.

This is by far my favorite place to get chicken wings. They are deep fried and have a very slight amount of teriyaki or some sort of glaze on them. They also make a spicy version. The menu has many other things as well. Some of my favorites are the deep-fried quail eggs, the pork skewers, and the deep-fried chicken skin.

The restaurant itself is a chain and is bar style. So, there is nothing fancy about the restaurant. But the wings are must try while in Japan.

Funny old place Japan isn't it.

Decided to pay Yamachan a visit based on a recommendation, the place is very busy especially at weekends, so a reservation was necessary. Like all the tourists we managed to bumble our way through the Japanese menu and pressed the bell to order. After a few minutes the waitress realised we were struggling and brought an english menu, which sort of spoilt the challenge and mystery of the evening. Anyway the selection of dishes came along with the beers and compulsory chicken wings, you can't go to Yamachan and not order the chicken wings - don't no why but everyone orders them!. A reasonable and enjoyable nibbly picky meal was had, with the added bonus of a celebrity sumo wrestler dining at the next table.

Get down there you never know who you may see!

Normally if you go to Japan you won't eat chicken wings. But these are simply delicious! and absolutely worth while to try, for lunch or dinner. They have a big menu to choose from besides the chicken wings. Delicious with a cold beer! you won't be disappointed. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy, you just come for the food. It is always very busy and especially in the weekend.

Yamachan is a wonderful laid back chain restaurant. With an expansive menu and reasonable prices, you can't go wrong with Yamachan. Don't forget to get their famous wings, they're the best!
