for a 4 start hotel its not up to standard, they don't have wifi in all rooms, some rooms are very small and not modern , bathrooms are very tiny, no room service, limited English spoken at front desk, changed rooms after complaining , and then the Wifi worked, but found out that if more than five on the wifi it keeps throwing you out , overall i had no choice as Nagoya is always busy city , if i had a choice i would stay at the Marriott at the station , but that's always full as well, but its an excellent hotel

Room Tip: high floor which mostly are refurbished, Perineum room floor is the best

I went on business. Stayed in a suite. The hotel is more oriented towards Japanese guests, but should be comfortable for Western travelers as well. I went in the middle of a very hot summer, but the room was cool and easy to adjust the temperature (not always the case in Japanese hotels where the thermostat seems to default to uncomfortable settings for Americans used to 68-70F). The bathroom is more laid out for Japanese, with a soaking tub and shower/washing area. TV stations are mostly Japanese. Nice in room amenities such as green tea (as in emerald green tea, and not straw colored!), bath salts. The staff are excellent, although English is not always that good. There are a few restaurants and cafes in the hotel itself, but it is located across from the under ground Unimall where there are several inexpensive casual eateries, cafes and shops. It is about a 5 minute walk from the JR Nagoya Station and a 3 minute walk to the nearest subway station. No pool. The breakfast buffet is good. There are a few local specialties amongst the Japanese food selections, Western fare is average for what you'd get in Japan--oddly cooked eggs, potatoes with salad. I like the drink bar with selections for coffee (4 different ways) or green tea/black tea/ matcha au lait, etc. There is a gym, but you have to pay membership, so I did not go. Wifi is tough to access, but reliable once you are on.

Not sure about the location because I arrived here quite late and left quite early to explore the surrounding area, but I'd think it's pretty good since it's near the station.
The rooms are clean and nice, lobby is huge and the receptionists are very helpful ( I needed some help book an express ticket for Universal Studio, and they helped me look on the internet)
They also have nice breakfast, though not very wide selection available. The breakfast area isn't very big either so it's quite busy.

we got the top floor suite,so the room was quite large, with separate large bath. getting here from train station isn't that straightforward or close. it is about 2 city blocks, even underground. have to go straight out south entrance nagoya station, follow signs for Unimall (written mostly in Japanese). go out entrance # 11. climb stairs, so not good if you have luggage. suggest using a taxi (about 850 yen). No pool or gym (unless you pay 2000/d for a separate spa on the 6th fl). towels are really small, and thin. wifi is a pain. you have to redo the code every few hours as you'll get bumped off. also the code is complex and there are 5 of them. cable better (included in room).
service is good, although a little cold. there is nice udon restaurant in unimall near entrance 11 going toward nagoya station. try the nagoya noodles, they are flatter than regular udon. tasty. didn't try hotel food with so many dining options outside the hotel.

Location is very good and pricing also. Wifi was working in laptop but not in phone. They also provide LAN network. However before visiting take a converter for electricity. The plug of your laptop may not suit for Japanese sockets! And be sure your charger supports 100 volt. Other wise will also need a voltage converter. Hotel always not support the converter.

I stayed there in Mid May for leisure. The location is good, 5 minutes walk thru the underground street to the Nagoya Station. I took the Airport Express to the hotel only 1 hour. Hotel room is bigger than regular Japan Style hotel. Clean & Tidy, the Front Office Manager Mr. Tadashi very kind & Smart, he is very helpful. He make my stay very comfortable & smooth

Room Tip: High Floor with less group to stay and will be much quiet.

Close to main train station , friendly staff , English average at desk but helped me to o and get train ticket to Tokyo, standard rooms and not that good, first room was damp and AC not working , wifi code , they made a mistake and you have to drop the 1 in the code to get it to work , but cuts of very two hours, rooms clean and basic, restaurants a few in the basement, the Indian one is very good and good price for hotel, lunch was a washout , fully booked for outside people so couldn't try that, overall i would stay next time at the Marriott at the station much better standards and lunch was good,

Room Tip: upgrade to deluxe
