The Nagoya Boston Museum of Fine Arts is within 5 minutes walking distance of Kanayama station. It is accessible via the Meijo subway line, JR lines, Meitetsu lines and buses.
If you are expecting the same size and scope as the main museum in Boston, you will be disappointed. The Nagoya museum is much smaller - essentially 2 floors of galleries - and is meant to compliment the main museum. However the main collection is worth a visit, and of course there are regular exhibitions, often times of select works from the MFA in Boston.
In the lobby of the building is a "Boston Cafe", and if you are interested in the history of Nagoya, the 11th floor features the "Nagoya Urban Institute", with large photos, videos and maps documenting the history of the city (mostly in Japanese.)
