The hotel is in a nice shopping district. Public transport from airport by Meitetsu mu-SKY train to Kanayama station, followed by subway to Sakae took only about an hour and was quite convenient unless you have a lot if luggage.. Once you get your bearings, you can make use of Sakae underground streets to exit from the Maruei Department Store which is about a block away from the hotel. Our twin room was small but adequate. Black-out curtain ensured a good night's sleep. Bedding was very comfortable and the window could be opened a few inches to let fresh air in Otherwise there was stale cigarette smell seeping in from the corridor even though we were on a non-smoking floor, and the room got a bit too warm and stuffy as if air-con was not working properly or too weak. This may be an issue in summer. Toiletries were provided though no moisturizer. Good shower but bathroom did not appear to have ventilation. A clean, very soft and nicely pressed yukata was provided every day but I find the reusable slippers unacceptable even though disposable liners were provided. Check-in and check-out were efficient. My major complaint about this hotel is that they allow people to smoke in the lobby. All-in-all Sakae Tokyu Inn is a comfortable and conveniently located budget hotel but I may not want to stay there again because of their smoking policy.
