Staff were very nice and helpful. They made dinner reservation for us and organised luggage forward service. Hotel in convenient location not too far from bus terminal, train and main sights in town. Clean rooms and nice reception area. Great that they had real coffee you could make at reception when you wanted it. Liked the big window in our room, we could watch snow falling in April! Smallish bathroom and bed but fine for the price. Stayed in double room. No washing machine but coin laundary not far down the road.

Hotel is a breath of fresh air, lots of glass to let natural light in. Modern. Our room on 6th floor had dripping cistern, no dramas offered room on 8th floor. Small room, but functional, double bed one side up against wall. Comfy bed n pillows. Coffee avail in room. Modular bath, though no steps up to bathroom/toilet. Good standard public baths. Windows r opened in hallways during morning clean to allow fresh air through. Staff happy, and helpful. Coffee station at reception. Great little restaurant behind hot l, adjoing carpark.

Easy walk from the station. I stayed in a twin room, which was relatively spacious. There’s a desk, but not really big enough to work on for any length of time. Free coffee in the lobby from a machine, and guide maps galore (in multiple languages). There’s a rooftop spa free for guests. The super helpful staff offered to put some frozen meat I had in the kitchen freezer, which helped as the room fridge isn’t on until a guest inserts his/her room key into the slot inside the room door.

There are handy bedside light switches, as well as a 100V outlet and a USB charger port. The only downside I can point out is that the bed is a little hard for my taste, but that’s personal preference.

We booked a Standard Twin Room for two, and were pleasantly surprised by the size of the beds, which were two double-sized beds.
In addition, there’s an onsen within the hotel main building, which is nicely done up with both indoor and outdoor hot spring pools (hence the name of the hotel I suppose).
Overall, it was a very good experience, 4min walk from Takayama JR Station and Bus Terminal, 8min walk to Takayama old town, 6min walk to Takayama drinking district, a good size room for two, which is also clean and well maintained.
PS: Google map might fail in this small city at times, unless you input in Japanese.

Location is about 10mins walk from Takayama station.
Check-in was smooth, a very professional and great staff tried her best to communicate and explain in English.
Room was very clean and spacious, bed was so comfortable, bathroom was very clean.
There is onsen available for use (onsen for ladies needs PIN number to enter, for safety reason).
There is a very popular restaurant (Maruaki), 5mins walking distance, serving BBQ Hida beef, yakiniku and sabu sabu.
Great value hotel.
