We spent 2 nights in this lovely hotel. English is limited but did not present a problem. The first floor is beautiful with stained glass windows depicting the four seasons. Welcome juice and cookies in the afternoon was a special treat. The breakfast was delicious with many choices, Japanese and Western. I did not try western as I prefer to eat local cuisine. The complimentary umbrellas came in handy during the rains! Would love to return some day.

Location is excellent if your focus is the Kenrokuen Garden and Kanazawa castle. Spacious and comfortable room. Stuff speaks limited English but is always helpful. One night we decided to eat yakitori at a smalll non-English speaking restaurant, they helped translated our orders/menu to Japanese and directed the taxi driver to the location. Good value Japanese set lunch at their in house restaurant. We walked to view the spectacular winter garden light up and enjoyed walking around the pleasant neighborhood.
Will definitely stay here again if I ever visit Kanazawa again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with view of Kenrokuen if you visit during Cherry Blossom Festival.

Spent five days the first week of April 2012.

We loved the hotels location. Right next to the castle and gardens and walking distance to the market - a favorite place. We had a rental car so free parking was great as was the driving trip to Noto along the sea and the driving trip between the white mountains and the sea to visit sake factory by the airport. Loved the Japanese bath as well as full bath and three beds in room for the family.

Favorite eating spot.....we went three times....I call her MAMASON but her stall is two down from the sake store and although it's just a stall with a few benches to eat....iced beer... and the food was so fresh and wonderful that we kept going back. She splits the fresh lobster and puts it on a hot grill and opens GIANT fresh oysters that are so big no one could eat whole and she says not to put sauce on them because they are fresh from the sea..........everything could almost be watched as it came off the boat. So we stopped one last time just before going to the airport to return to my son's home in Shanghai and we told her we were low on yen.....so she gave us a complementary platter of the best tuna sushi I've ever put in my mouth telling us how much she appreciated our eating there so many times.

We spent a night here. We had Japanes dinner at the hotel, the food was well presented, but not spectacular.
The room was clean and comfortable, but the hotel does not have wireless internet connection, not even at the lobby. They may have wired connection, I am not too sure about that.
Overall, this hotel gives me a 4 star and below impression. It's location is a plus point as it is within walking distance to kenrakuen and other attraction/ restaurants. It is a good place to stop over for the night if you mainly want a place to rest and visit kanazawa for the rest of the time.

Room Tip: simple pleasant room.

We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. A nicely furnished room and slightly larger than average, also well equipped and clean. The staff were very helpful and the kaiseki meal we had in the restaurant was very good. We initially thought we had to pay for parking (which is underground) but it was free in the end. Location is quite good for seeing Kanazawa.

I stayed at the hotel in January 2010 - it has taken a while to write a review - I chose this hotel as I was spending the weekend in Kanazawa alone and wanted something nice with an onsen. I got of the train and caught a small city loop bus that stops a block or so from the hotel. With the help of a map I found the hotel - the outside is not grand, and it is not central to the city, but inside is just lovely. I immediately left to expole Kanazawa - the hotel is very handy to Kanazawa Castle and Kenrouken Garden and also walking distance to Higashiyama (the old town with many temples) - covered in snow this town is absolutely beautiful as I am sure it would be in other seasons as well. Coming back to the hotel and having a drink in the bar and dinner was wonderful - very traditional Japanese, the waitresses we so lovely and old fashioned, they just seemed to suit this town. The room was beautiful - I guess that is the only way to describe it. There was an onsen, quite spectacular - a very large raised round bath - in the snow and cold this was the perfect end to the day. There were no foreigners and only one gentleman who spoke very good English (he appeared to greet me each time I walked into the lobby) , but the team were so very welcoming and did everything they could to assist. The hotel is located on the opposite side of the Castle Park to the town of Kanazawa but well worth the short incredibly scenic walk to get there. I loved this town and I loved this hotel. For a tourist wanting old-fashioned Japanese charm in a town that matches, stay at this hotel.
