You should really go for their tea ceremony! We wanted to enjoy and experience a tea ceremony in Japan. We did not know where to do this. We then decided to come to this place and it was a perfect decision! We were the only guests at this time and really andjoyed the nice atmosphere of the garden that we had for ourselves!
:)

The host of the ceremony was very nice and explained everything to us. It really was a great experience and we would not have wanted to make this somewhere else since we think it was the perfect place for it. Especially since we did not have the feeling that this place was too "touristic". It gave us a true experience and especially the host made us feel like really beeing part of the ceremony.

We can really recommend this place and dont forget to book in advance!
:)

We had a lovely tea ceremony at Gyokusen-en, just me and my husband and our host. She walked us through the appropriate expressions and actions and afterwards explained the symbolic significance of each item and step and answered all our questions. It was a highlight of our trip!

This garden is a treasure. We have seen it in 2 seasons, and its design ensures that it is beautiful at all times. The multitude of stone lanterns are alone worth seeing. The whole garden is a lesson on how to plan variety and beautiful effects in a reasonable small space. The use of water, stone, trees, architecture and plants is superb.

This garden is a little hard to find but well worth the effort. It is tiny but beautiful and full of inspiration. Someone really knew what they were doing when they built this.
The tea ceremony cost a fair buck but proved to be worth it. We were knocked out by the sincerity of the lady who conducted it and her rigorous adherence to the many traditional motions and actions that go into it. She was very friendly at the same time and made us feel quite at home in what was essentially a pretty strange and foreign experience. The sweet was great too. I would heartily recommend this tea ceremony and the garden.
