Set in an ancient building, the head chef speaks good English. The staff are really friendly and nice. I'd suggest it for foreigners, but Japanese might be a bit disappointed with the food.

This place is everything you should except from a great Izakaya. The service was perfect and the food was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere was cool, fun and really authentic and watching the chef work his magic behind the counter was completely mesmerizing... We literally wanted to try everything on the menu! One of the best experiences of our entire holiday and still one of Japan's best kept secrets. This place is a must-try. Period.

Take the counter - the others places are not so fan and to watch the cooking process and to speak with the chef (who worked for Nobu in NY) is a part of the experience. Food is fantastic - tempura, sushi, specials... and the price is very reasonable and affordable. Booking is necessary.

This place was advised by our Hotel and it was so far our best dinner in Japan. We recommend staying at the bar to watch the chef cooking, it's part of the experience. All the dishes were delightful a specially the beef salad. We only regret no to have ordered the pressed sushi, it looked amazing. Go there and enjoy!
