First off, for anyone who describes Japan as busy and crowded, they should visit Yonago. There isn't a lot going on in the city itself, but there are some surprisingly cool places in the area. Yonago is a great place to stay if you wish to visit Sakaiminato (and Kitaro street) or want to taste some great seafood. Superhotel is one of Japan's reliable if predictable chain of hotels. The location in Yonago is brand new. The rooms and hallways are especially tiny, but everything you need is there. The staff were quite friendly and provided us with maps of the area and gave us pretty good directions in English. The breakfast was fabulous. I was expecting rice balls and miso soup but instead there was baceon, eggs, fried potatos and delicious fresh baked breads and buns--still warm from the oven. The coffee vending machine is free during breakfast hours so you can sample a variety of hot and cold beverages. You can actually see the top of the hotel from Yonago station. The town itself was the most deserted looking place i've ever visited, but the scenery outside of town is gorgeous.
