Each room has a small private outdoor bath tub. Food is standard onsen style served in a room in restaurant not in own room. Quality of food is just standard, you may find better elsewhere. However, surroundings are unbeatable. You really can have nice relaxation walking or biking around the lake and sitting in your balcony.

Dear Guests;
Thank you for sharing your positive review following your visits to Akan Tsuruga Besso Hina no Za.
I am delighted to read that you love the private onsen , surroundings, atmosphere and service.
I am sorry that We only service in-room dinner in the room type call Kasumi no Za , as it is nearest to the kitchen to keep the food fresh.(on the same floor of restaurant)

I will be sure to pass this lovely feedback on to the team who will be very grateful.

Did you know that we have just open a new hotel [ Onuma Tsuruga Auberge Epuy] in Hakodate Hokkaido? We would like to have you in residence in the near future.

Yours sincerely;

We stayed here two nights. The hotel itself was gorgeous from the foyer to the rooms. Lighting was relaxing and there was a no shoes policy throughout the hotel. The Japanese style room was very spacious and had a private onsen (small though and could have done with a bit of a scrub) a sitting area and a message chair. Dinner and breakfast kaiseki were provided and while the meals could have done with a little variation, the quality of the ingredients was top notch. Service was a little inconsistent but I put it down to language issues. There was also a nice bar but oddly it was only open after 8 pm.

You get what you pay for and a stay at the Hinanoza ain't cheap. But it was very pleasant and we almost didn't want to leave to venture into the Akandake area.

It's the best experience here. Hotel is located in the connivence location, close to the lake, opposite Lawson and easy walk to the tourist spot ( Ainu Village)

Only 25 rooms with private onsen, you can feel so private, peaceful and privilege. We spent one night there with 4 of family member. Staff 's so polite and consideration. Even the conversation in English might be a bit tough for them but they're willing to help.

Hotel is not old style, in the other hand, it's the great mix of Japanese style with modernize.

Full course Japanese style food set was super nice with all fresh material. We had our own private dining room. Dinner might take around 2 hours while breakfast with an hour. The staff was so nice to us. They recognized what we had asked during dinner then prepare for us on the breakfast time. .

Public Onsen on 7th floor, it's the open air with panoramic view and you will be like ' Wow'

All every great experience here

We travelled with another couple and we were all impressed by their welcome greeting. The hotel is small but very comfortable. Every room with an onsen and a massage chair. Of course the meal is delicious and I can hardly finished.
After staying in different onsen hotel. My experience is to stay at the cheapest room in the best hotel other than the best room in an ordinary hotel. Hinanoza is a typical example. Of course if you can afford it, there is some big rooms facing the lake!

This property is beyond my expectations. Externally, it is quite unremarkable. Rather oldish looking and even a little run down. Inside is a whole different world altogether. It is owned by the Tsuruga Group of Hotels, which seems to have a near monopoly on the hotel business in the Lake Akan area. This must be their top end hotel amongst the many other touristic hotels in the vicinity.

Lake Akan itself is a beautiful area, surrounded by low mountains and lust greenery. When we were there, the lake was mostly frozen and consequently, there were some "on the lake" snowmobiling and other activities provided, which was nice and interesting.

The hotel has only 25 rooms, so you never feel that it is crowded. I think the occupancy was at about 50-60% when we were there. There was even a world famous celebrity singer staying there at the same time. It really is an ideal place to unwind, do some quiet and peaceful reflection, and reconnect with nature and with oneself.

When you enter this hotel, you are immediately transferred to an area that this simply breath-taking - a quiet sanctuary with a direct facing view of the lake, bordered by carefully sculptured trees. The hotel welcomes you with a lovely warm Yuzu drink and a little dessert (mine was a creme brulee, which was excellent).

I had a top end ryokan room with a direct facing view of the lake, which was spectacular. Very spacious, with a private en-suite onsen. The room itself was sparsely furnished with a large table where private dining can be arranged. They also provided a humidifier and a number of other useful in-room amenities. Some of my friends complained that their onsen had bugs and insects floating in them, but I guess with such open concept private onsens, you have to expect that. Nevertheless, the hotel could have been more thorough in removing these insects.

The bed was firm and comfortable. Housekeeping was efficient and attentive.

The wifi was however, rather disappointing. Poor access in the rooms.

The hotel provided a "half board" package, which includes daily breakfast and dinner.

Each meal was carefully and painstakingly prepared, especially the Keiseki style dinners, which were nothing short of excellent. The service was attentive and efficient. The food was exquisitely prepared and all ingredients were carefully selected by the resident chef. Simply astounding.

One word of caution though - as in most Japanese hotels, the staff do not speak English so well. Use simple words that they can understand. Don't speak too fast and don't use terms or phrases which are not internationally known. It is also a good practice to ask the person to repeat to you so that you know that they have understood what you wanted.

Dear guests;
Thank you for your wonderful TripAdvisor review of your recent stay with us.
We are always extremely pleased to hear such positive feedback from our guests as it assures that we are delivering the service we so highly pride ourselves on.

We are pleased that you were happy with the top class hotel of Tsuruga Group in Hokkaido about the design interior , the accommodation with private onsen, the Kaiseki dinner and the location of the hotel.

I am disappointed to hear about the insects in the onsen floating , the cleaner works very hard to ensure all the room and areas are very clean. unfortuantely, we have no control over the nature insents. we will discuss and examine the case .

We very much appreciate your kind compliments and we are very pleased we were able to exceed your expectations and hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you on your next visit to Lake Akan.

Yours sincerely;
