We booked this hotel as we could not get a twin room.
The hotel is in a great location, just a few minutes walk to the train station.
Reception is located on the 2nd floor (1st for U.K. Readers) and the rooms are located on the 3rd floor with the 4th floor being a car park.
We booked a semi double - 120 wide bed. This size of bed is normally marketed as single beds in many hotels in Japan. The comforter (Duvet) kept sliding off the bed with the 2 of us squashed onto it. It was not a major issue as the room was so warm we could have slept naked and it would still have been way to hot, this despite is being -7 outside.
The room is small, you would not be able to swing anything in this room, I now know what people mean when they say rooms in Japan are small. We got a room with the ramp to the car part just outside, as such the first half on our window was frosted.
The bathroom is even smaller, about 1 meter by 1.4 meter, the sink hangs over the bath and the toilet is smaller than normal but has a wash let on it.
The hot water was hard to control, running cold then too hot. Not great if you are in a hurry.
Was the hotel old? Yes
Was the hotel clean? Yes but exceptionally old.
Was the bed comfortable to cheep on? No if you are a westerner and plan to share the bed.
To be fair, this hotel is not expensive at £47 for a night and I can't be to unfair.
If you plan to go alone or have separate rooms then this hotel will be great, if you plan to share a semi double bed then I would suggest you reconsider.
