“Food not as good as the atmosphere- a lurking crew imposter”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 January 2011

Fun atmosphere on the right night. Lots of crew. Good beer. Food could be better. Downstairs is supposed to be for crew/non-Japanese only.

You will often find a local (Arab) who claims to be French and speaks Japanese, French & English fluently, claiming to work for an airline (usually Air France) , early 30's. Conceals fluency in Arabic. Sometimes offers to drive men back to their hotel. BEWARE. There is a lot more to the story, suffice to say she does NOT work for ANY airline. BEWARE

“A typical British pub in the middle of a historic Japanese street?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 December 2010

I came there often when I got stuck in Narita for one week because of the volcano ashes. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The pub is beautifully made of wood and, although wide, had many cosy corners, like the chimney area. They have a good selection of import beers and even cider. i haven't seen many Japanese people. The clientele seems essentially made of middle-aged men working for airline companies. Honestly, it's a bit intimidating for a woman alone.
The staff wasn't so nice - no smile, but let's be honest, this place is too enjoyable enough to make you forget about it.

“Typical English Pub...an oasis in a desrt”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2010

Not that japan is dry country...but for people who prefer a proper English pub to a sake bar in Narita, this is the place. Frequented by most expats, it features international cuisine sourced from the different restaurants nearby.

“Friendly atmosphere, careless staff, terrible food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 November 2010

This pub is probably the biggest pub I have seen in my life and I've traveled around the UK many times! It has a pool and darts Icorner at the back and a dance-floor down the stairs.
There are always many travelers from everywhere in the world gathering there and it's easy to meet new people. it could be very enjoyable atmosphere if the rudeness of the staff wasn't ruining it. The lady behind the counter didn't even reply to my greeting nor smiled and was very careless when handing in my beer. Oh, and she completely screwed my cocktail. On top of that, she looked annoyed when we ordered food because she had to go to the kitchen area.
I can't believe how bad the food was! The fish and chips was very oily and didn't smell very good. And the snacks are kind of expensive for their quantity and quality . For 500 yen, we got 5 pieces of nuggets not even correctly defrozen. I'll probably go back there on my next visit to Narita for the atmosphere (not for the staff!) but I'll make sure I eat before.

“nice pub, crap food and surly staff.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 October 2010

Spent 2 nights in Narita, visited pub once and enjoyed ambiance. However the staff were impolite and the food arrived late, 3 of us were finished meal and two others had yet to be served. When food eventually arrived the waitress was rude when it was pointed out to her that some of us had finished our meals, never again.
